LG Front Load Washer Dispenser Does Not Dispense

When detergent is not dispensed completely into the washer tub, the primary cause is usually the type or amount of detergent, or a maintenance issue. Specific instructions are provided based on which compartment is not dispensing.

Detergent Area
Bleach Area
Softener Area

Detergent Area
1. Use only HE (High Efficiency) detergent in LG Front Load Washers. Do not use more than the amount recommended by the detergent manufacturer.

2. In an area with soft water, it may be necessary to reduce the amount of detergent used to as little two tablespoons (2 Tbsp). HE detergents that are 2x or 3x concentrated may require you to use less than the recommended two tablespoons (2 Tbsp).

3. Regular monthly maintenance on the dispenser is recommended to reduce detergent residue in the dispenser and also eliminate odor. To remove the dispenser unit, press down on the depressed tab between the softener and bleach inserts. Once the dispenser unit is removed from the washer, separate each component piece and clean with warm water and a soft-bristled brush. DO NOT clean these components in a dishwasher.
