LG TV – Troubleshooting a TV With Sound But No Picture

  • Troubleshooting

At a Glance

In the event that your LG TV produces sound but fails to show a picture, potential causes could include a loose or faulty cable, incorrect input settings, or, in rare instances, a TV malfunction.

Note

If your home theater or receiver serves as a central hub for all external devices connected to the TV, make sure that the TV is set to the same input as the home theater.

Additionally, ensure that the home theater is set to output from the external device connected to it. If you are unfamiliar with how to operate the function/input settings of your home theater or receiver, you may need to directly connect the external device to the TV.

Try This

1Power on the TV

2Using the LG remote, press the volume + / - buttons or the Home button.

Note
  • *** If no response from the LG TV remote, press the joystick button in the bottom center of the TV to see if the menu appears. ***
  • If the joystick button work and the TV remote does not, please see our LG TV - How to Troubleshoot Your LG Magic Remote article for further assistance.
