Spacious, Elegant and Silent
This was my first choice when i decided to buy my parents a new refrigerator however after doing a lot of research i’ve red some negative reviews and comments both here and in youtube that prompted me to look for other brands. 2 weeks had past my parents saw this model and they said they liked it. I told them everything and to make the story short i’ve bought it for them. Today, marks the first month since i purchased this model and so far it is working well. Some of the concerns raised by some like FROSTING. - if you set the freezer too cold and has few items inside. Frosting will build up so lower the freezer temp. I usually set it at 16 C. MOIST in the fridge - set the temp between 2-3 C. Little moist usually builds up if you open the fridge door too long and a quick wipe will remove it. I never heard any loud sound and no water dripping as well. With the ice tray being small. Actually it could stock more and in my count 50 ice cubes. You just need to refill the tray with water religiously. The best features of this refrigerator are: 1. Design - it looks elegant! 2. Space - compared to many 24 cu ft refrigerator it has a bigger space plus it has a lot of trays. 3. Low to No noise - the compressor is really quiet like you won’t hear it working 4. Controls - since you can adjust the temp without opening the fridge it’ll save electricity plus the LG Thin Q makes it more convenient.

A no frost ref thats FROSTING. Terrible!
1. TRUSTED BRAND DOES NOT MEAN THEY ALWAYS MAKE EXCELLENT APPLIANCES. Im normally a fan of lg as I always had no problem with other appliances. But this one is terrible. I wished i read a review of this model before buying.
2. THE FREEZER BUILDS UP A LOT OF ICE. Because of this, the fan does not work properly and it has a very loud sound.I had to call the service center several times and even complained in Anson where I bought the unit. Initially they tried to repair and even added a heating pad.
This happened in less than 6 months of use. But its still making ice. In the end they changed the unit, but the problem is the same in the new unit
3. ITS A DESIGN FLAW. The heater pad at the back of the ref is not enough to make sure ice does not build up on the freezer. Honestly I think they should recall this model. Its a terrible experience from the beginning. Now its just 17 months of use and its still the same.
4.We always need to defrost the ref. Taking out the food from the ref is a chaos as our ref is always full. Im using my hair blower just to speed up the melting of ice. Otherwise, you'll need to wait for atleast 8 hrs.... so terrible
5. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. Its always difficult to contact them. Response and action take so so long too.
6. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT. NOT WORTH IT! LG SHOULD RECALL THIS MODEL AND RETURN OR CHANGE OUR REF TO ANOTHER MODEL.

It's working well so far
Just plugged ours in yesterday. Was very apprehensive about it as I read all the negative reviews here after it had already been delivered. So far so good. The inside is spacious and bright. I like the shelves and drawers. The only major draw back so far is the ice tray. It's a lot smaller that the one that came with our previous refrigerator. It should be stated that i bought this by checking it out online and did not see it in person until it was delivered. The ice tray is disappointingly small. It's located in the door, so the water sloshes around and spills if you open the door and the tray has just been filled. But because the ice tray is so small, you get A LOT more space inside the freezer. More than enough to put in your own ice tray. I appreciate the flexibility and it will probably come in handy in storing frozen cakes and other large bulky things.

The outside looks good, but immediately upon opening you will find a very awkward position for your hands to pull the doors-serious design flaw. The handle is facing downwards-human arms are designed for upward pull. This also becomes a depository of whatever is in your hands: oil, dirt, food stuff, etc. and difficult to clean, too.
On the inside, the ice tray contains only one half glass of water to be turned to ice. Volume wise? Translated to .000166 of the 24 feet cubic space. Buy decent ice trays.
You cannot change the freezer and fridge trays/racks to different height positions to accommodate your items for convenience. Again, serious design flaw?
Ice globules are forming on the freezer air vents, water droplets also accumulate on the fridge air vents...this is the first time I am using an inverter refrigerator, none of which I experienced with previous models or technology that are frost free.
I don't know how long will the main board and other very important components last, but they give 10 year inverter compressor warranty-least of your worries though as most will last longer.

Defective model - LG ThinQ
We bought the same model yesterday, May 5, 2021 (Wednesday) and I was really hoping we don't experienced the bad review I just read (too late I only read it after buying). Day 1 was almost okay after 20 hours of plugged in when suddenly I hear like a motor sound circling and when you open the freezer door, the sound slowly disappear but after a minute, a sound emanating from the motor start again cracking. I noticed also water start dripping inside the freezer.
I frantically went to Abenson and complained. This is really bad considering our previous ref was also an LG. Abenson said the unit will be replaced (bec I wanted to be replaced immediately) but it has to be checked first by a technician on Monday, May 10. This is ridiculous and a big inconvenience. I will never buy an LG ref again.

Same problem here with the unit, the freezer frost. Except that unit is just 1YEAR OLD. The service center came to fix it, still its frosting. The noise you hear is the fan of the freezer. When the ice builds up, it gets in the way of the fan and so the fan has a hard time functioning well. U need to defrost the unit. Its really annoying! I unplug, and use my hair blower to melt the ice faster so I wont need to wait for 8 hours..I bought a no frost and i end up with a ref frosting.

Ice on freezer. I had it service by the local authorized service center, still ice on the freezer. Now you can hear annoying noise when you open or close the doors of the unit. I don't know where it is coming from. The noise sounds like loose door hinges. We bought the unit almost 3years now. I live in Puerto Princesa City

UPDATE (October 22, 2020): Day 6 of no fridge. LG still giving me the runaround saying the head office has not approved a replacement. Horrible product, horrible service, horrible warranty process. Just don't buy LG, it's not worth all the headache.

UPDATE (October 20, 2020): Still no functioning fridge and LG just wants me to wait until they figure out when to replace my unit. It has been 5 days of no functioning fridge and I can't get them to expedite my replacement. Oh, did I say what a horrible experience it has been?

UPDATE (Oct 19, 2020): Called LG customer service and was told it will take up to 7days for my replacement to be approved. In short, LG expects us to have bj fridge for 1 more week. Technician came back today to see that freezer and ref have no cold air coming out. Was told that this model has had a number of issues. WHY THEN IS LG PHILIPPINES SELLING THIS MODEL IF IT HAS FACTORY DEFECTS? I asked for a different model for my replacement. Let's see what happens

UPDATE (Oct 18, 2020): The freezer has completely thawed out and all my food were spoiled. It's a Sunday and there is no way to get in touch with LG. I will demand for a replacement ASAP but I will still have to live the next few days without a fridge. The hassle this has caused is horrible. I will never ever buy any LG product again. Consider yourself warned!

Update (Oct 17, 2020): After 4 business days of pullout and leaving me with no fridge, service center finally got it back to me. Two days into it, I can already say that problem still persists. Now the fridge doesnt even cool efficienly anymore. My meat in the freezer are not frozen solid despite setting freezer to -20C. I will call to complain again and ask that LG replace my unit so let's see. Horrible experience continues.
