can a lg 10k window ac unit run vertical?

I have casement windows and want to run my ac 90° from the picture. Will this harm the ac or cause any problems?
Asked by: heathater
As it turns out, that is not an option.

There is a significant difference in the venting and air circulation of these two air conditioner designs. Window units are designed with air flow vents on the sides of the cabinet, for the cooling of the compressor system and fan motors. If the ventilation is obstructed by a wall or an installation sleeve, the motor can overheat and burn out prematurely. Air Conditioners that have been designed for a WALL installation are configured to have the air circulation from the back of the cabinet, with no side ventilation.

Is this model number really supposed to read LW1010ER and not just L1010ER? Also, is this model the one without the Chassis?

Looking for 10,000 BTU...model number LW1010ER without the Chassis.
Asked by: AngiePoo
L1010ER has a same type of Chassis as LW1010ER. Both has Top-Down Chassis Type. Thank you.

my air conditioner is throwing water into the room but water is dripping out the back. what should I do

Asked by: kerry
It is first recommended to check the tilt of the air conditioner body. Proper installation should provide a ½” difference in the between the inside portion and the outside, with the outside being lower than the inside. Second, make sure that the filter and coils are clear of lint, so that they do not retain any moisture. Finally, check the humidity level in the room. If the unit is installed properly, and is sufficiently clean, then the only known reason that moisture would come back in is extremely high humidity in the room.

is the LW1010ER re-chargeable ?

Asked by: harryb
I apologize but I am not exactly sure what you mean by re-chargeable. If the unit is not cooling please try the recommended trouble shooting steps: Does the unit have the correct power supply? If the unit is not supplied with the proper power supply, the unit may power on and the fan may run, but the compressor will not be able to turn on. Make sure the unit is on a dedicated circuit breaker and that the power requirements are being met. Is the air conditioner set on the correct mode? To cool the room, the unit must be set to COOL or ENERGY SAVER Mode. If the unit is on FAN Mode, only the fan will operate to circulate air through the room. If DRY Mode is on, the unit will remove moisture from the room, which may make it more comfortable, but it does not cool. Is the air filter clean? The air filter must be clean to ensure proper cooling performance. This should be done at the beginning of every season and at least every two weeks during the season. If may be necessary to clean more frequently. A dirty air filter will reduce proper air flow, reducing performance. Doors/Windows Open? Airflow Obstruction? All doors and windows should be closed, to prevent warm air from constantly entering the space. Nothing should be too close to the sides or front of the unit so as to obstruct the air flow, as this will reduce efficiency. Obstructions around or in front of the unit are hazardous. Unit exposed to direct sunlight or heat source? The air conditioner should be installed in a shady area for maximum cooling and away from any internal heat-producing sources. It may be necessary to install a cover over the air conditioner to shade it. See Owner’s Manual for details. Is there at least 20” of open space behind the unit? If the unit does not have the proper amount of space to vent to the outside, it will be unable to discharge the heat from the room efficiently. This reduces cooling performance because the unit will not be able to absorb as much heat from the room if it cannot discharge. Is the capacity correct for the room size? Insufficient capacity will not cool the space efficiently. If all of this has been completed and you are still experiencing issues with the unit cooling, it may require service. The warranty on the unit is 5 years effective from the date of original consumer purchase of the product. What is a difference between L1010ER and LW1011ER?

Asked by: Remek
Hello and thank you for contacting us. The units in questions have the exact same specifications and features; although, specifications area subject to change without notice. The only difference is in the model number. This could be for a number of reason; we sometimes make certain models to be specifically sold by specific stores only (i.e. The Home Depot vs. Best Buy).
