Stored in bedroom off-season. Third season unit control panel would not light up. Multiple sockets later unit still dead. I expected a longer lifespan. Will not buy a second unit from LG.

Does the filter in it fikter out pollen or pollution from the outside air?

The air filter in the LG 10,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with remote, Model # LP1013WNR can help to reduce indoor air pollution, however, it cannot remove all pollutants from the air. The unit has to be installed in a sealed room so no outside air can come in and it is a single hose model that does not draw in outside air. The air filter in the unit is not a high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter...^IFV

I have just purchased a reconditioned portable LG Ac unit. Everything works but everytime I put the AC mode on it starts to rattle and shake really hard. And yet it is leveled. What could be the problem?

How long can you run it before worrying about emptying the water

There is no way to determine how long you can run the LG 10,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with remote, Model # LP1013WNR, before you have to worry about emptying the water collection tank. As listed in the specifications, it features a dehumidifier that removes up to 2.6 pints of moisture from the air per hour, but that is the maximum. How much moisture it actually removes will depend on how humid the environment where you live is. Keep in mind that this unit also has a self-evaporative system which recycles the condensing water to cool the condenser. So if you live in an area with low humidity, you rarely have to empty the water collection tank if at all. If you live in a coastal area or one of high humidity, then you may have to empty the water collection tank more frequently. That will all depend on the dew point index and relative humidity that let you know how much moisture is in the air. But you really don't have to worry about when to empty the water collection tank because when it gets full, the LED display will show "FL" and the air conditioner will automatically turn off to prevent spillage. That's when you will know that you have to empty the water collection and restart the air conditioner after emptying draining the water...^IFV

How do you change/add water to the unit?

The LG 10,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with remote, MOdel # LP1013WNR does not require you to add water to it. Like your refrigerator, it uses refrigerant (R410A) to cool. The only water that needs to be drained from the unit is the condensate that collects in the internal water collection tank when it gets full...^IFV
