Rated 5 out of 5 by from great buy Bought LG in wall AC 1200 BTU after our central ac gave out. Hesitant at first, never owned this type of ac unit or LG product. We were extremely happy with purchase. Easy to install, my husband did it. Quiet, 3 speeds, cooled entire family room and living room. Area of approx. 18ft x 30 ft. Very satisfied with efficiency during July and August heat wave.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works well for my apartment The unit both cools and heats my small apartment well. I replaced my previous unit which lasted about 4 yrs with this one. I've noticed that the compressor on this one makes more noise. I'd feel better about the product if it lasted far longer than the warranty. Keeping my fingers crossed

I currently have a LT1210CRY7 model rated at 11.5k BTU. Will the LT1216CER model rated at 12k BTU offer significantly more cooling. Our current a/c is about 10 years old. Will it fit the same sleeve?

Asked by: 185WEA
The LG 12,000 BTU 115v Through-the-Wall Air Conditioner, Model # LT1216CER will not offer significantly more cooling than Model # LT1210CRY7, it will offer the same amount of cooling. BTU is an acronym for British Thermal Unit and it refers to the amount of energy that's required to increase the temperature of a pound of water by 1°F. Air conditioners come with a BTU rating that essentially tells you how powerful the unit is. Instead of heating, air conditioners remove heat from the air and circulate cool air back in so they still work as a form of measurement when referring to air conditioners When choosing a new air conditioner for your home, it is crucial that it be sized correctly, meaning it has to have the right BTU rating. That different of 05K BTU between 11,500 BTU and 12,000 BTU will not make a difference to the cooling capacity. The number of BTUs recommended is based on square footage and those recommendations typically assume that your home has ceilings that are 8-feet high. If you have higher or lower ceilings, this will affect the power of the air conditioner you need. In the case of air conditioners, bigger does not necessarily mean better. If your air conditioner is too powerful, it will cool your home too quickly. In addition to cooling your home, your air conditioner also removes moisture. If it cools too quickly, this means it shuts off immediately, which means it doesn't have time to remove moisture from the air. Additionally, when it cools too quickly, this means that it will cycle on and off more often to keep your home to its set temperature. This means your unit is at risk for wearing out and breaking down much sooner than you may have anticipated. On the other hand, having an air conditioner with too few BTUs is also problematic. Without enough power, your air conditioner will constantly be running to keep your home cool. Not only will this cause the air conditioner to wear out much faster, but you will also be paying a lot for your energy bills. 11,500 BTUs is always rounded off to the mearest whole number which would be 12,000 BTUs so the cooling capacity is the same...^IFV

How does the water drain? I noticed the water sits in the pan in the front and starts leaking out the front? I did follow recommended directions on how to tilt my unit. Please help

Asked by: RobR22
The condensate that collects in the base pan of the LG 12,000 BTU 115v Through-the-Wall Air Conditioner, Model # LT1216CER during high humid conditions or on rainy days should overflow and drip from the rear of the unit if you gave the unit enough tilt as recommended. While through-the-wall air conditioners drip water naturally out of the back of the unit due to condensation from the evaporator coils, they shouldn't ever drip out the front. All you need to do is adjust the fit so that the unit tilts slightly down on the outside to ensure that the water rolls to the back of the unit to drip. You may also want to check that your air filter is clean. When your air filter is dirty, air cannot pass through as easily, which causes the evaporator coils to freeze up. Since refrigerant flows through your evaporator coils and requires proper airflow to absorb heat, if the airflow is restricted, ice will form and drip water...^IFV

Hello LG I'm looking to replace my current LG AC Unit .. I currently have Model # L1811ER Serial # 121X488 102TAE J00412...Can the LT 1216CER model fit the same sleeve? or Can you recommend another Thanks for your assistance

Asked by: Zim206
The LG 12,000 BTU 115v Through-the-Wall Air Conditioner, Model # LT1216CER, and all other current LG Through-the-Wall Air Conditioners use the LG Wall Sleeve, Model # AXSVA1 (or the LG Wall Sleeve with Stamped Aluminum Grille, Model # AXSVA4) You can also purchase the Stamped Aluminum Grille, Model # AXRGALA01 if it is needed when you purchase the AXSVA1. The W x H x D dimensions for the LT1216CER are 24" x 14.41" x 20.09" and those for the L1811CER are 26" x 16.84" x 26.84". The W x H x D dimensions for the Wall Sleeve that the LT1216CER fits into are 25.88 x 15.53" x 16.72 and as you can see from a comparison of the dimensions for the L1811ER and the wall sleeve for the LT1216CER, the wall sleeve for the L1811ER will be more than those for the wall sleeve that the LT1216CER fits into so you will need to purchase a new wall sleeve for any of our Through-the-Wall Models that you select to replace the L1811ER because they all use the same AXSVA1 Wall Sleeve...^IFV

I did not get the enclosure/hood for my LT1216CER AC because it does not fit in the space in my wall. The back of the LT1216CER unit that sticks outside has the mechanical parts inside the AC exposed so rain water can get in. Is it okay to have it outside

Asked by: nyc urbanism
The wall sleeve the LT1216CER fits into is the AXSVA1 which is an optional accessory available for purchase separately. Information about this wall sleeve including where you can purchase it can be found on the following link: https://www.lg.com/us/air-conditioners/lg-AXSVA1-wall-sleeve

How come my lg air conditioner dose not get cold and why were we told by our manger not to put it under 70

Asked by: Jrod07
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this air conditioner. If the device is not cooling, it is first recommended to ensure that the air conditioner is plugged into an appropriate electrical outlet, on a dedicated circuit, which can support the proper amperage for the machine. Second, it is recommended to check the air filter to ensure no obstruction in the air flow. We would not have a reason why you were told not to put it under 70, it would be recommended to speak with the manager. If this does not resolve the matter, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

Should the unit be set on cool or energy saver

Asked by: Sieben
We do appreciate your interest in this air conditioner. There is not a recommended setting as it depends on personal preference. With ENERGY SAVER, the fan stops when the compressor stops cooling. Approximately every 3 minutes the fan will turn on and check the room air temperature if cooling is needed. While in COOL, the compressor runs and cools the room.
