Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth it. I've had 2 different models (120v & 240v) from LG and they both broke down with in a year. If the heating element goes out and you have it running on automatic it will work harder to try to bring the air temp up, which will triple your electric bill! The AC part works fine, but the heater just isn't strong enough for any lasting usage. Since I bought the unit specifically because it was a combo AC/Heater, the heater not working is a complete deal breaker.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product is not dependable. I purchased this item in 2008 with a five year warrenty. It broke down every year at the worst time. Either at the hottest or the coldest of weather. It is not dependable. After everything had been replaced--we actually got one year without a repair but has started all over again. Company was not helpful. If you like repairs then it is for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent AC unit This is in the living room of our guest house and is so powerful, most guests don't need to turn the one on in the bedroom. We haven't used the heater part but I'm confident it will be great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This unit is quiet and powerful I recently purchased the LW1213HR to heat and cool my 450 sq. ft garage which is fully remodeled as a work out center. I live a Florida and it gets very hot, this units cools it down in 4-5 minutes and keeps it cool and I cannot even tell a difference in my electric bill and I use every day. The heating function works just as well. Very quiet, does not interfere with the work I do with my fitness clients

Can this unit be built in instead of being placed in a window?

Asked by: francie
The LG 12,000 BTU Heat/Cool Window Air Conditioner with Remote, Model # LW1213HR requires standard single hung or double hung windows for proper installation. It is designed for installation in standard double hung windows with actual opening widths from 27" to 39". The top and bottom window sash must open sufficiently to allow a clear vertical opening of 16" from the bottom of the upper sash to the window stool. The outside of the cabinet must extend outward for at least 12" and there should be no obstacles, such as a fence or wall, within 20" from the back of the cabinet because it will prevent heat radiation of the condenser. Restriction of outside air will greatly reduce the cooling efficiency of the air conditioner, cause to it to malfunction or burn itself out. All side louvers of the cabinet must remain exposed to the outside of the structure. It cannot "be built-in"...^IFV

What wire do i need to wire the outlet?  Will 12-3 be sufficient with a 20 amp breaker

Asked by: Chipster
The LG 12,000 BTU Heat/Cool Window Air Conditioner with Remote, Model # LW1213HR has to be plugged into a standard 250V, 3-wire grounding receptacle rated at 20 A protected by a 20 Amp. time delay fuse or 20 Amp circuit breaker. It already has a power cord attached to it (NEMA Configuration 6-20p) which also has a current interrupter device attached to it. You will need to check your building code to determine what type and size or wiring or gauge you need for your outlet or check with your local building inspector...^IFV

My clean filter light wont go off what do I need to do? Is there anyway to reset it

Asked by: Cajun348
This flashing red indicator light is a normal operation for certain models. On some newer models, the POWER INDICATOR will begin to flash when it is time for the air conditioner filter to be cleaned. It is possible to reset this indicator light by unplugging the unit for approximately 3 minutes, and then restoring power to the system.
