Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bought one year ago and already blew out I bought this last year, used it maybe 50 days for 2-3 hours at a time in my 10 x 10 shed... The unit blew its fuse and will not start. The reset button on the cord does not reset. The unit also does not cool a 10 x 10 space.

Where do the freon go up on my LG model serial number LW 5012

Asked by: Kirkbone
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this air conditioner. The coolant should not need to be recharged, as it is contained within the sealed system. This would only be required if there is a leak in the system, which would require service on the device. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair/support-repair-provider-lookup.jsp.

where is the thermostate control located

Asked by: frankie00
We appreciate your interest in this air conditioner. The control for the thermostat is located on the primary control panel. The UP/DOWN arrows will control the desired temperature of the device. If this does not resolve the matter, then the unit may require service. i have 5amp switch , the electricity in my country is 220volt not 110 , i know that i can convert the 220 to 110volt using something , but can you convert it from your side , did the converting affect the amp and the watts i need details about that pls

Asked by: raji mostafa
Even if you could use a step down transformer to step the 220V in your outlet down to 110V to use this LG 5,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW5012, the one thing that you will not be able to change is the frequency. This unit has to be plugged into a standard 2-Pole, 3-wire grounding outlet rated at 125 VAC, and it should use a 15 amp time delay fuse or a 15 amp circuit breaker. As a general rule, it is unsafe to operate a 115V, 60Hz rated appliances at 115V, 50Hz. Operating a 60Hz appliances at 50Hz may result in excessive heat buildup in transformers or in certain types of electric motors. As you alluded to in your inquiry, it is possible to purchase 60Hz sine wave power systems that takes 240V 50Hz on input and produces 115V 60Hz on output, but these units are generally very expensive, and it is usually more cost effective just to replace the appliance...^IFV

Does the air filter need to be replaced?

If so, where can I purchase one?
Asked by: MaryF
Hi MaryF. The Air Filter for the LG 5,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW5012 is a washable filter and your owner's manual recommends that you check it at least twice a month to see if it needs cleaning. The filter can be washed in lukewarm water below 40°C (104°F) You will find instructions on how to remove the front grille to get to the filter in the "Maintenance and Service" section of your owner's manual on page 18. If you need a copy of the manual, one can be downloaded from the support section on the LG site[http://www.lg.com/us/support-product/lg-LW5012]...^IFV
