Rated 4 out of 5 by from All around usage Purchased several months ago. The door is too close to the floor, which makes it hard to reach and close with ease. I also find that the dry cycle doesn't always dry completely. I use "Finish" for drying, but it doesn't always help.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extremely disappointed with this product..... We have owned this unit for approximately 2 1/2 years. It does a very poor job of cleaning dishes, even though it takes almost 3 hours for a wash cycle. Because there is no heating element in this unit, it requires a rinse agent to keep the dishes from spotting. It consumes a tremendous amount of rinse agent! You have to fill the rinse agent reservoir about every three loads. The plastic coating on the wash racks has delaminated in several places, and the wire material the racks are made of are now rusting. In addition, the stainless steel panel in front of the dishwasher has developed discoloration streaks running from top to bottom. This problem developed in under a year, so LG replaced the original panel with a new one, and it has now developed the SAME streaks as the original panel - no amount of polishing or cleaning will remove them. The only positive thing that I can say about this unit is that it is quiet. We paid a premium, top of the line price for this unit, and we did not receive a top of the line product, This unit is overpriced, and doesn't hold up very well nor does it do a very good job.

Why aren't my dishes getting clean? I've cleaned all the spray arms, added my rinse aid, and ran a cycle with a cup of vinegar in the bottom rack. The top rack is especially a problem.

Can you disable the end of cycle chime?

The end of cycle chime on this LG Front Control Dishwasher with Flexible EasyRack™ Plus System, Model # LDS5540WW can be disabled by pressing and holding the Extra Dry and Delay Start buttons simultaneously for approximately three seconds after the unit has been turned on...^IFV

How do I clean filter? Why is there water on floor after cycle?

We appreciate your interest in this dishwasher. This model is designed with a SELF CLEANING FILTER, as is noted on page 5 of the owner’s manual. All that may be needed is to clear the bottom of the dishwasher cavity. If buildup remains, it may be suggested to run an empty wash cycle with vinegar in the tub. If I accidentally stop the dishwasher, can I restart it somehow with the current amount of wash time left?

My dishes are gritty after the cycle is complete. The troubleshooting tips said to clean my filter. I tried to clean the gunk out of the filter that I could get to, but most of it is inaccessible. What should I do?

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this dishwasher. It is suggested to run a wash cycle that is empty other than a cup of vinegar. This should help with any buildup which might be present in the dishwasher.

My dishes aren't clean and the soap dispenser door is open at the end of cycle but the soap remains in the cup. I used a normal cycle.

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this dishwasher. It is recommended to check the incoming HOT water temperature, to make sure it is a minimum of 120 degrees Fahrenheit. This must be in order to activate the detergent properly. If this does not resolve the matter, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 to troubleshoot the matter further.

Can I have the End cycle notification remain on until I open the dishwasher?  Otherwise, it is impossible for people to know if the dishwasher is clean or dirty.

I apologize, but no; according to page 10 of your owner’s manual, a chime will sound and the display will show “END” when the cycle is complete. After a short time, the display and controls will shut off for safety and energy conservation.
