Rated 4 out of 5 by from Motor lasts less than 5 years This dishwasher been great for 4 years and 4 months, motor just went bad, waiting for replacement

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Second LG I bought this a month ago to replace a 10 year old similar direct drive LG hat broke the spider bracket supporting the tub. It works fine, but I thought it would be a shame to throw out the old machine so I ordered a new bracket along with bearings and a shaft seal then completed repairing of the old machine. We now have two LG direct machines active! I like redundancy.

How do I clean filter? Why is there water on floor after cycle?

Asked by: Tree tree
We appreciate your interest in this dishwasher. This model is designed with a SELF CLEANING FILTER, as is noted on page 5 of the owner’s manual. All that may be needed is to clear the bottom of the dishwasher cavity. If buildup remains, it may be suggested to run an empty wash cycle with vinegar in the tub. Please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 to troubleshoot this matter further.

does this model have a filter that needs to be cleaned?

Asked by: RegT
The LG Semi-Integrated Dishwasher with Flexible EasyRack™ Plus System, Model # LDS5540WW does have a filter, but it has a built-in soft food grinder and a self-cleaning filter. The grinder grinds up soft food and residue into small particles that can be caught in the filter and washed down the drain. The self-cleaning filter system continuously cleans the wash water as it circulates to separate any residue from the wash water. All dirt and residue easily wash down the drain...^IFV

What is the difference between the easyrack vs the easyrack plus?

It appears that all of the tines on the upper level of the dishwasher move on the easyrack plus, but only 2 on the easyrack. What is the difference on the bottom level? I'm currently looking at the LDS5040WW and the LDS5540WW
Asked by: jlyons
LDS5040WW and the LDS5540WW easyrack vs. easyrack plus I have asked too many people this question and guess what: No One knows the Difference ! Lowes, HD, mom and pop stores, LG Customer Service doesnt even know the difference. I am calling LG Tech support tomorrow. It's $100 difference in price. Is the word " Plus " with $100 now-a-days? You got to laugh..

What is Hybrid Condensing Drying System and how does it work?

Asked by: SmokNDave
The dishwasher does not rely on a heating element for the drying process; instead, it relies on the heat that is retained by the dishes and the tub during the wash and rinse cycles to turn the moisture in the tub into humidity. Warm, moist air in the dishwasher is then pulled into a condensing duct in the door by a fan. The air then cools, which causes the humidity to condense. Room temperature air is also drawn into the duct to help the air cool down faster. When this moisture condenses into a liquid, it is drained out. Rinse aid is required to enhance the drying performance. If no rinse aid is used, water may remain on the dishes and the tub.
