What People Are Saying

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happy with dryer The dry works well. Clothes dry relatively quickly, and the multiple settings ensure clothing is not damaged.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Easy to clean I bought this a year ago due to the fact it was the largest capacity for a 24" stackable dryer. I went the ventless route and do not mind emptying the tray but it takes forever to dry. And sometimes things are not dry even though it is on sensor dry. But overall, for my circumstances, it was the best choice. And I have the matching washer which I love.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Work great! I had it for a month and its wonderful. Still learning the energy saving features but regular setting work great.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dryer is horrible when it comes to bed sheets We bought the washer and Dryer back in March. It works well, except when it comes to bed sheets and comforter covers. The dryer (whether on bulky items or not), makes a big ball of the sheets and actually does not dry anything. I have to go every 5 minutes to detangle the bed sheets and get the dryer again. Sometimes, it is just faster to hang the sheets to dry. This has been a very frustrating experience. I will never buy an LG dryer ever again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Washer! Love this washer. Great for small condos or apartments! Gets clothes clean and is super quiet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Takes forever We have this dryer in a rental property. Can't just wash and dry the sheets between tenants. Two sets of sheets and a few towels and I've been sitting here for 3 hours. Second load is no where near dry. The sheets just roll up inside of themselves or each other. This is ridiculous. I feel as though I should apologize to anyone who rents this unit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 2 years and 5 service calls later...now junk Works great when it works; but has now been serviced 5 times, twice because it said to "empty water container" yet I the hose connected directly to a drain. The other 3 times, and what finally ended this was water leaking out of the bottom of the dryer. Thank goodness I had warranty and Lowe's replaced the drain pump once, but problem is still happening.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful Dryer I don't understand why people are rating this dryer at 4 stars when it takes them 2 hours to dry one load. This dryer cannot dry an entire load, we have had to break our washing loads into very small batches and even then it takes forever to dry. 3 hours to dry 3 towels, 1.5 hours to dry 1 fitted sheet and 2 pillow cases (not even the entire sheet set)... it's ridiculous!

I'd like to have my dryer professionally cleaned since I can't reach the back or deep inner parts to properly remove old lint etc. who do I call for this?

Can the dryer be hooked up to drain through the coordinating washer? I was told this when purchasing, but have had difficulty figuring it out.

Asked by: JessicaB
We appreciate your interest in this dryer. The drain hose would not be able to be setup through the washer but can be connected to the household drain. If you require assistance with connecting to the household drain, it is suggested to enlist the assistance of a qualified technician.

Can the condenser be replaced? what is the part number?

Asked by: KimQ
It is possible for the condenser to be replaced. However, due to the pieces which have to be installed around and through the compartment, it is recommended to have such a piece installed by a qualified service technician. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair/support-repair-provider-lookup.jsp.

Also, when I turned on the dryer, clean filter & empty water signs are blinking even if they are cleaned and emptired. And it's even before I start the dryer.

Asked by: zetesis
We appreciate your interest in this dryer. The description given is normal operation. These indicators are supposed to appear simply as a reminder of what needs to be done before the cycle begins. If this has already been done, then nothing further needs be done.

After 15-20minutes of drying, dryers starts to leak. Leak is on the left back side. It's constant drip.

Asked by: zetesis
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this compact dryer. Can it be determined if this leak is coming from the top back corner or closer to the bottom of the cabinet? The description suggests the possibility of the leak coming from the Condenser Assembly or from the blower ducts. Please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 to troubleshoot the matter further.

Does the matching washer plug into this dryer, or does the washer need a separate 110 outlet?

Asked by: JGCR
The National Electrical Code, NEC ANSI/NFPA 70 adopted in 50 states and your local codes and regulations require that Appliances, (i.e Refrigerators, Washing Machines, Dryers, Air Conditioners etc.,) be plugged into their own dedicated outlets, so the LG 24" Compact Ventless Electric Front Load Dryer, Model # DLEC855W cannot be plugged into the matching washer and both units will need their own dedicated outlets. The matching washer, the LG 2.3 cu. ft. Large Capacity 24” Compact Front Load Washer, Model # WM1377HW is rated at 120V, 10 Amps and must be plugged into its own separate standard 3-wire grounded outlet protected by a 15 Amp. time delay fuse or 15 Amp. circuit breaker...^IFV

My ventless dryer puts a lot of humidity into the air and the moisture settles onto the floor which is hardwood. I'm afraid over time it's going to damage the floor. Is this much humidity normal? It's been happening since day 1.

Asked by: Leahbr8
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this electric dryer. This machine is designed to vent some air near the bottom of the cabinet, as there is an Air Ventilation Grill along the bottom of the machine. This information is shown on page 13 of the owner’s manual. It is recommended to confirm the cleanliness of the condenser, as this is supposed to remove moisture from the air.

Can my dryer operate on a 120V power source

Asked by: Michael269
The 24" Compact Ventless Electric Front Load Dryer, Model # DLC855W has its' own terminal block that must be connected to a separate 240 VAC, 60-Hertz single-phase circuit fused at 30 amperes. DO NOT CONNECT THE DRYER TO 110-, 115- or 120-VOLT CIRCUIT...^IFV
