My LG DVD recorder is not responding to play back,... After recording it saids,... Unknown Disc, Please Check Docs Again,...It worked before and now it's acting up. Feed back please,... I'm really getting upset.
We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this DVD Recorder. Check the discs being used. When this player was developed, only certain brands, disc types and speeds were compatible. The owner’s manual will show what types of discs should be used. It is also suggested to run a lens cleaner through the player. If this does not resolve the matter, then the laser may be failing. My recorder will not keep my recorded shows on to DVD,..R plus or RW,... And I'd love to talk to someone about it,... But yet this is all I can do. Like dealing with real people.

This should make the recording permanent on the disc, to the point it can be viewed on other DVD players. Why are we no longer hearing sound when we play DVDs?
This is a problem that has developed suddenly. We now hear no sound when we play DVDs, no matter how much we turn up the volume. When we use the TV/DVD button on the DVD player remote to toggle back and forth between TV input and DVD input, the sound switches on and off. I've made sure all the cables behind the unit are still connected.

DVR started getting error...
When I first put in the dvd it will ask me to intialize it.
That works fine but then I will record something and then it will start giving error "unknown disc, please check again..." I have tried to different DVD+R disc one sony and the other TDK with no success. It used to work fine with no issues. Any ideas.
The DVD Drive will have to be replaced but LG won't sale you the drive.
