Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely Nice Monitor Purchased to be a second monitor for my 2019 iMac 27" Retina computer. This display provides a perfect match to the iMac in terms of picture quality, richness and accuracy of color and resolution. I can put a high resolution picture on both monitors and they look identical. I require dual monitors for my work as well as to work with my astro-photos. This is a high quality display which integrates with the iMac so well that it seems to be a part of the original system.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Uses too much power when Macbook is sleeping I had a power meter connected to the monitor and when I do not connect a Macbook when it is off it draws 1 watt. Which is reasonable. However if I connect my Macbook to the power outlet of the monitor it draws 25 watts when the battery is fully charged. I also connected a Chromebook and there also when its off and fully charged the monitor draws 25 watts! Any explanation here or is there maybe a firmware update that can fix this? I already run the latest firmware Another problem is that waking up the screen and the mac can take quite a while, which is frustrating. To end on a positive note. The image quality of the screen is fantastic

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great monitor I bought this about a year ago. I had none of the issues that others had. Rarely bottom left flickers but goes away when heats up. Great image quality. No problems with my 4th gen Macbook Pro.

I can't get macOS to recognize the camera in my monitor. I have tried updating everything, I have downloaded the LG Manager and it did nothing, and this is very frustrating that such a basic function isn't working on a $1k+ monitor.

We regret to read that you are experiencing issues with your MacOS not recognizing the built-in camera on the LG 27" Class UltraFine™ 5K IPS LED Monitor (27" Diagonal), Model # 27MD5KA and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. The new version 2.08 of the utility made it High-Sierra compatible and improved connectivity quality on the USB-C ports and fixed the software to the integrated camera that assisted with low performance in low-light conditions. It also brought a more precise control with volume controls from the Mac itself or attached keyboards. There are many reasons as to why the camera is not recognized and we recommend that you contact our Support Center at (800) 243-0000 and get some troubleshooting assistance from a product specialist...^IFV
