What People Are Saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not a reliable product We bought this Refrigerator 3 years ago and have had to replace the in door ice maker now at least 4 times with a service call waiting to see if it has to be replaced again. We also had the freezer ice maker go out after about 1.5 years and were so frustrated we just decided not to replace it. The fridge is beautiful and has lots of features but the quality of the parts put in it is not worth the money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT waste your money! We purchased a package of LG appliances in Aug 2016 from a large hardware store chain. Also purchased the protection plan at the time of purchase. Loved this fridge up until 12 days ago when the compressor failed. Between dealing with LG and the 3rd party repair companies (ASAP solutions and A&E appliance repair), this appliance has been a NIGHTMARE! Not even 3 years old and both the fridge and freezer is dead. We saw reviews but thought we'd still give them a chance. Save yourself time, headache and money. LG customer service is terrible as are the repair companies they deal with. This issue negates all things I loved about the refrigerator when we purchased it. Do NOT buy LG! Life is NOT GOOD 2 years and $2400 later!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I bought this model 07/2017. 2 months into purchasing they have to come and fix ice maker since then almost every 3 months something is wrong with it a technician has to come in to fix . Exactly 1 year and 8 months the fridge completely stop working . A technician was sent out . I was told by service department that it need a big part and it’s a 2 man job. So frustrating and everything in my fridge spoil . I’m without a refridgerator for 4 days and counting .

How do I turn off the ice maker in the freezer in a dual ice maker French door model? Will it hurt the system by turning it off?

To turn the automatic icemaker On/Off, press and hold the Ice On/Off button on the control panel for three seconds. This will not harm the unit when turning it off. ^CP

How does ice plus work

Asked by: Moose 133630
ICE PLUS enables the freezer compartment to run at its coldest setting for a 24 hour period in order to increase the output of ice. This makes the compressor operate nonstop for three hours and increases ice production by up to 20%. ^AC

How come our refrigerator isn't making ice very quickly, in bother the freezer and side door? Also, we have an IO water filter and the water doesn't come out very well. Do we need to remove the filter?

Asked by: Sharyn63
The water pressure must be between 20 and 120psi. If a reverse osmosis water filtration system is connected to your cold water supply, then the water pressure to the system will need to me a minimum of 40-60psi. Additional specifications and suggestions for this matter can be viewed on page 21 of the owner’s manual.

We had this refrigerator installed Sat. The draw in the freezer has ice crystals forming on it (noticed this immediately) Is this normal? This AM noticed that the ice in the freezer ice tray was partially melted. Any idea what may have caused this?

Asked by: Emom
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this refrigerator. It is not normal for frost to develop immediately. Such can develop if there is an air leak in the compartment. This could also explain the defrosting. Check for anything which might prevent a solid seal on the door. For additional suggestions, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.
