What People Are Saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from LG..... Lower Grade We bought a new fridge 4 years ago and have now replaced the fan motor in it twice. The fridge has randomly started shooting water onto our new hard wood floor with no one even near the fridge. The ice make builds up into a soild block of ice..... well that was when it worked. Now it doesn't work at all. The first 6 months were trouble free and that was it. We have not gone more than 3 months without a problem since.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What a piece of garbage Owned this now just less than 4 years, had issues the first two years a few times where the coils froze over in the more humid months because they did not defrost correctly. (And I thought frost free really meant just that, boy am I silly to think this was optimized back in the ‘50s) Now I come home to a load of spoiled food in the fridge and freezer because there is no cooling at all. There are no error codes on the interface, and the thing is acting more like a space heater than a fridge. I guess a few grand does not go far these days. But hey, at least it is large... but that simply means more food goes bad when it stops working. I’ve called the help line, only to answer - refrigerator, yes, no, no, yes, yes, no, yes, no, to some stupid robot answering machine where then I received a text to help troubleshoot. The result of that 30 minutes wasted was that I need a service tech. Ummm, yeah duh... I’ve called the 3 service techs in my area only to leave voice messages, and I’ve still no response. As I mentioned, what a piece of garbage.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst refrigerator! Bought it 4 years ago, had the compressor and evaporator replaced two years later ( paid repair and parts) because it was out of warranty. 15 months later we woke up in the morning to find a fridge making loud grinding noises and a large puddle of water in the kitchen an family room, had to throw away lots of food that didn’t fit in my garage fridge. We unplugged, waited a day and plugged again hoping the matter will resolve by it self, but didn’t happen, fridge temperature was at 45 and still making loud noises. Now we’re waiting for LG to send a technician to diagnose the damage. I’m considering to replace my fridge with a non LG brand.

The fridge on ice maker and dispenser side makes a frequent sound of a ball bouncing, slow than quicker. What does the noise mean? Fridge seems to be working fine.

Asked by: J Hubb
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this refrigerator. This machine does not have any form of ball that might make such a noise. If the machine is operating properly, then there should be no cause for concern. However, if you so choose, a technician can come to review the matter. My fridge doesn't have humidity selection for crisper drawers to choose between Fruits / Vegetables like my other fridge did. Fruits and Vegetables need different humidity setting, how to solve that problem? Fruits and vegetables don't stay fresh long

Asked by: Ammor
We appreciate your interest in this refrigerator and its features. The following is recommended for the storage of FRUITS: Do not wash or hull the fruit until it is ready to be used. Sort and keep fruit in its original container, in a crisper, or store in a completely closed paper bag on a refrigerator shelf. The following is recommended for the storage of LEAFY VEGETABLES: Remove store wrapping and trim or tear off bruised and discolored areas. Wash in cold water and drain. Place in plastic bag or plastic container and store in crisper. Finally, the following is recommended for the storage of VEGETABLES WITH SKINS: Place in plastic bags or plastic container and store in crisper.

Asked by: Lu9103
I apologize, but no; the alarm option on the refrigerator does not have a volume feature available. It operates with an ON/OFF toggle button.

Our refrigerator started leaking and we found that the ice maker had frozen up. We think the leak is caused by that but not sure. What else could it be?

Asked by: Bentnail62
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this refrigerator. Leakage will generally not be caused by the ice maker freezing. However, such could occur if any ice build-up occurred in the air duct, blocking the flow of cold air, resulting in some portion to begin thawing. This matter could be resolved by allowing the refrigerator to sit unplugged for about 4 hours, drying up any moisture, and then reconnecting it. This should resolve the matter. If it does not, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.
