If your device is frozen, or the screen is locked and you haven't created a Google Account on the phone, you can perform a Factory Data Reset.

By performing a factory data reset, All Data Will Be Deleted From The Device. While any data stored in your Google Account will be restored, all apps and data not stored in your Google account will be lost and should be backed up to a computer or MicroSD card before resetting.

Note: You can use LG Backup solution to back up your phone data.  Alternatively, to back up your data, connect your phone to a PC via the USB cable. After connecting, select Media sync (MTP) mode on your phone. Copy personal folders to your PC, i.e. DCIM (photos, videos), Downloads, Music, etc.


This process will erase all personal data from your phones internal storage and restore your device to factory settings. Please remember to back up any importrant data before performing a factory reset.

  1. From the Home screen, tap Apps  icon > Settings  icon > Backup & reset  icon

  2. Tap Factory data reset to erase all data and restore default settings.

  3. Tap Reset phone > Erase everything to perform a factory reset. Your device will restart when the reset is complete.

Note: If a lock screen code is enabled you will be prompted to enter this to continue with the factory reset.

If your device freezes and becomes non-responsive it may be necessary to perform a soft reset.

To perform a soft reset:

  1. Remove the back cover.

  2. Pull out the battery.

  3. Replace battery and back cover.

  4. Long press the Power key until you see the LG logo.

This process will erase all personal data from your phones internal storage and restore your device to factory settings. Please remember to back up any important data before performing a factory reset.

  1. Turn the phone off.

  2. Press and hold the following keys at the same time: Volume Up Key + Power/Lock Key on the back of the phone.

  3. Release the Power/Lock Key only when the LG logo is displayed, then immediately press and hold the Power/Lock Key again.

  4. Release all keys when the Factory data reset screen is displayed.

  5. Press the Volume Keys to highlight Yes, then press the Power/Lock Key to confirm.

Note: To cancel, select No (Exit) and press Power/lock key. Your device will restart without performing a factory reset.

  1. Press the Volulme Keys to highlight Yes, then press the Power/Lock Key once more to confirm.

  2. Your device will perform a factory reset.
