Component/Composite Cables

Picture quality problems can be the result of composite or component connection errors between the TV and the external device.

1.

Check the cable connections on both the input and output devices. Make sure the color-coded cables match the same colored input/output port. Mismatched cable connections can result in a black and white image.

Other Checks

The two usual causes of a black and white picture, are a defective connecting cable or external device.

1.

Try substituting an alternative cable. If that fails, then proceed to the next step.

2.

Try connecting another external device. If that fails then the TV may require service.
