This is done by slowly filling the washer while checking the saturation level of the clothing. Once the clothing is completely wet, a sensor goes off indicating that the washer has enough water. Some cycles will weight the load to help determine the appropriate amount of water needed for the cycle.

LG Front Load Washers are high efficiency washers that use as little water as possible. It is NORMAL for there to be NO visible water line on the door of the washer.

let's try some troubleshooting:

Are clothes wet at the end of the cycle?
 Yes No

Unless the inlet hoses are blocked or the water supply is not turned on, this indicates the drum is overloaded.

When the drum is overloaded, the outside of the item is saturated, but the inside portions never make contact with the water. Reduce the load size to ensure that all items in the drum are able to get wet and wash effectively.
 Next step

Is there a residue on the clothes, as if they are not completely rinsing?
 Yes No

Too much detergent can leave a residue in the clothes that may be interpreted by the customer as not rinsing, which they may believe to be the result of not enough water. In these cases, using the correct TYPE and AMOUNT of detergent is imperative.

Notes for Detergent Use:

Use only HE Detergent.
Note: Some HE detergents are concentrated and thus require smaller quantities.

Do NOT exceed the amount recommended by the detergent manufacturer.

If using pods, do not exceed 1 pod per load.
Note:Pods may contain too much detergent for small loads.

Do NOT use the liquid cup insert in the dispenser to measure the detergent. The line above normal measures at 1/4 cup of detergent. This is too much for most loads.

==>

Instead, use the measuring device that comes with the detergent. Most loads can be washed with the least recommended detergent, which is usually measured to Line 1 on a detergent bottle cap. This amount comes to just below the bottom of the NORMAL word, barely touching the white overhang. For smaller loads, use less.

Notes for Soft Water:

Soft Water requires LESS detergent.

Soft water means there are fewer minerals in the water. Detergents treat minerals in the water like soil, so fewer minerals mean less detergent.

In soft water conditions, use HALF of the detergent manufacturer's recommended amount of detergent. If suds are still visible, decrease by half again.

The unit detects the load and determines the amount of water to use. If the clothes come out clean and wet, then the unit is using the correct amount of water. To increase the amount of water in the cycle, use the Bulky cycle or Water Plus option.
