Definition of Warm and Cool Air cycles in Timed Drying
A customer inquired about the temperature inside the drum pending option setting. Please find following temperature chart :
Dryer Temperature Setting | Temperature |
---|---|
High | 68 ± 4°C |
Medium-High | 66 ± 4°C |
Medium | 60 ± 4°C |
Medium-Low | 52 ± 4°C |
Ultra Low | 46 ± 4°C |
Function
- Warm (Speed Dry) : Recommended for very small laundry loads or short drying time. Drying time and temperature can be controlled.
- Cool air (Air Dry) : Cool air circulates inside the tub without any heating. Recommended for rubber, plastic, or any heat-sensitive fabrics.
Automatic drying implies a mechanism shutting down the cycle once criteria have been met. In the case of dryers, it means the moisture from the clothes has been extracted.
Manual drying on the other hand, involves setting the cycle on a timer. Reason for doing so, for majority of cases, is to dry articles at very low, if not practically absent, heat. Either a small load for which humidity level goes undetected by sensors or items that risk melting (i.e. sneaker rubber soles).
Sensor dry cycles
Sensor dry cycles utilize LG’s unique dual sensor system to detect and compare the moisture level in clothes and in the air and adjust the drying time as needed to ensure superior results. The dryer automatically sets the dryness level and temperature at the recommended setting for each cycle. The estimated time remaining will be shown in the display.
Manual dry cycles
Use manual dry cycles to select a specific amount of drying time and a drying temperature. When a manual dry cycle is selected, the Estimated Time Remaining display shows the actual time remaining in your cycle.
You can change the actual time in the cycle by pressing More Time or Less Time.
Cool down period
The 5-minute cool down at the end of a drying cycle occurs when the timer shuts the heating off allowing the dryer to continue tumbling without heat so that the clothing can cool down, fluff up and show few less wrinkles upon completion. It helps reducing the risk of burning your fingers from prematurely pulling clothing out that might still be scorching hot. As an added bonus, it cools the heating coils to extend the life of your dryer.
