Which LG TV resolution is best for you?

LG has led the way in TV technology and image quality. Discover our wide range of LG OLED, QNED, 4K and 8K TVs—every one engineered for an unforgettable entertainment experience.
What does 4K and 8K mean?
4K and 8K refer to resolution as measured by the number pixels on your screen. The greater the number, the higher the resolution and the better the image fidelity. A 4K TV has 3840 x 2160 pixels, while an 8K TV packs in even more detail at 7680 x 4320 pixels. Take a look.

What is 4K TV and how good is it?
A 4K TV has 8.3 million pixels—four times more than a Full HD TV (FHD). That means incredible detail and clarity, even on larger screens. In fact, 4K will soon replace 1080p as the new standard. UHD (Ultra High Definition) is identical to 4K.
What kind of 4K content is available?
From blockbuster movies and hit series to documentaries and live sports, there’s a huge variety of 4K content on popular streaming platforms like Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime and YouTube. Even classic films can get a whole new look—up to near-4K quality—thanks to LG’s AI Super Upscaling technology.

What is 4K AI Super Upscaling?
LG OLED evo with AI Super Upscaling uses the powerful new Alpha 11 AI Processor to deliver clearer, more detailed images.¹ This advanced technology analyzes each scene in detail and optimizes picture quality for streaming content, giving you a whole new viewing experience.
What is 8K TV?
8K TVs, with over 33 million pixels, have an incredibly high resolution that gives you amazing detail and clarity. Content is still catching up, and with an 8K TV you’ll be ready to enjoy it as more becomes available.

How to choose between a 4K and 8K TV

When deciding between a 4K and 8K TV, think about the picture quality you want as well as your setup.

8K TVs
These TVs have incredible resolution and deliver the highest image quality possible. Just bear in mind that 8K content might not be as widely available as 4K content, depending on streaming and OTT platforms.

4K TVs
These offer impressive quality and 4K content is much more accessible on OTT and streaming platforms, making them a good choice for now. And with LG’s AI Super Upscaling 4K technology, even lower-resolution content looks closer to true 4K quality.
