Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is probably the best TV I have ever owned. Let me start by saying that the picture on this TV is incredible. It's bright, with amazing detail and clarity. The uniformity of the screen is also solid without any apparent hotspots or blemishes. The Magic Remote has finally tamed my setup and I can effortlessly navigate all my devices directly connected to the TV using my remote. This includes controlling the cable box and getting the GUIDE to display in my area. There are a couple of issues that prevent me from giving all 5 stars. First, I have not been able to figure out the lipsync issue between some components attached to the TV. The sound from the cable box attached directly to the TV seems to be upto a second behind the video. Netflix streaming from the TV is better, but still seem to be a bit off. Perhaps I need to update the receiver, but I have not done that yet. Second, and this is just a matter of style, the TV is extremely thin which makes it hard to move around as you cannot quite hold it by the top. The top is so thin that it flexes easily which worries me a bit. I kinda wished it had the traditional (a bit thicker) design as it does not much matter when it's hanging on the wall. However, the only thing that really bothers me is the lipsync issue. If I get that resolved, I will be updating my review to a full 5 stars.

I want a new OLED 55c8aua for gaming but will the new 2018s get burn in the screan from static images? this is major concern of mine, being that your TVs cost an arm and a leg. seems like all other oleds suffer from this.

Asked by: Tagnastick
Image retention/Burn In will result from static images being left for long periods of time on the LG C8AUA 4K HDR Smart OLED TV w/ AI ThinQ® - 55" Class (54.6" Diag), Model # OLED55C8AUA. Burn-in and image retention are possible on virtually any display. However, with an LG OLED TV, any risk of burn-in or image retention have been addressed through the use of technology that not only helps protect against damage to the screen but features self-healing properties so that any short-term image retention that may occur is quickly rectified. It is rare for an average TV consumer to create an environment that could result in burn-in. Most cases of burn-in in televisions is a result of static images or on-screen elements displaying on the screen uninterrupted for many hours or days at a time – with brightness typically at peak levels. So it is possible to create burn-in in almost any display if one really tries hard enough. And even if burn-in does occur from extreme usage, it can usually be mitigated within a short period of time by turning the display off for a while, and watching a few hours of varying content (such as your standard TV watching and channel-surfing). Additionally, LG OLED TVs come with special features and settings to preserve image quality and prevent burn-in and image retention. First, there is a screen saver feature that will turn on automatically if the TV detects that a static image is displayed on the screen after approximately two minutes. There are also two options – available in the Picture Mode Settings within the Smart Picture menu – that can be used to preserve image quality. The first of these is the Pixel Refresher feature that preserves the quality of the image on the display panel by resetting the TV so that it clears the pixels. This feature can be turned on when needed within the settings mentioned above. The second feature which is automatically employed is the Screen Shift feature which moves the screen slightly at regular intervals to preserve image quality...^IFV
