LG Mobile Phones Introduces New Handsets, Including EVDO Technology, Megapixel Integrated Cameras, Bluetooth Capabilities and Music and Multimedia Innovations

NEW YORK, Aug. 2, 2005 --- LG Electronics has set sail for holiday sales, highlighting 10 new mobile phones including the latest handset technologies and LG's first mobile accessories during LG's summer line tour an exclusive gala-by-the-sea event, aboard the Lady Windridge private yacht. At this pre-holiday season preview, the company also showcased its broad product portfolio, including its digital displays, digital audio/video products and home appliances.

LG's newest phones launching in the second half of 2005, just in time for the holiday season are expected to continue LG's momentum in the exploding wireless category. After capturing the largest share of the U.S. CDMA mobile handset market in 2004, LG once again won the largest share in the first quarter of 2005 with 30.8 percent of total CDMA sales. In the first quarter, LG sold more than 11 million handsets worldwide, establishing itself globally as the fourth-ranked handset maker, all according to recent data from market research firm IDC.

"LG's combination of innovative marketing, dynamic design and user-friendly advanced technology has propelled our recent significant growth, both domestically and internationally," said Juno Cho, president, LG MobileComm USA.
"The new handsets launching at this show reflect new steps forward in LG's extremely successful integration of design and functionality, and we're looking forward to introducing consumers to these phones in time for the holidays."

In addition to consistently strong sales numbers, LG is launching its newest marketing and advertising campaigns to educate consumers about the many ways LG mobile phones can fit into their 'everyday' lives. The campaign, 'six degrees,' which also will provide cross-promotional opportunities with LG's wireless carrier and retail partners,
illustrates the many ways in which LG mobile phones ensure that consumers are constantly connected with their world.

"Increasingly, mobile phones are an indispensable part of our lives, representing much more than just a means of voice communication," said Jon Maron, director of marketing for LGE MobileComm USA. "The LG phones debuting at our corporate summer line show represent hubs of communication, entertainment and information, and the new advertising and marketing campaign seeks to convey this incredible convergence to consumers."

LG's 10 new handsets and mobile accessories highlight all the latest technologies, including multimedia entertainment capabilities; EVDO and EDGE network compatibility, Bluetooth, integrated 1.3 megapixel cameras and slide design keypad handsets. Epitomizing the company's 2005 marketing theme, "LG: Life's Good," these and other cutting-edge products, including digital appliances and consumer electronics, were demonstrated tonight during LG's pre-holiday season preview.
