ATLANTA, June 9, 2004 - Digital high-definition television (HDTV) technology from LG Electronics is changing the way Americans enjoy sports - both in stadiums and at home. At InfoComm 2004 (Booth #3139) this week, visitors will have front-row seats where LG is addressing sport enthusiasts' growing demand for high-quality viewing experiences while watching sporting events.

"LG displays create the ultimate sports viewing experience when installed in stadium skyboxes and public viewing areas," said John Lagodimos, director of new business development, LG Commercial Products division. "In a skybox, viewers get the best of both worlds - all of the game excitement delivered in crisp, clear images on LG flat-panel displays - while they relax in a luxurious skybox environment."

"When space-saving, flat-screen plasma and LCD displays are installed in public areas, even those in general seating can get up to buy a beer or hot dog without missing any of the action," said Lagodimos. "And let's not forget those sports enthusiasts watching the game at home on an LG plasma or LCD display. Sporting events are an area where high-definition images and large screens really shine and LG displays are a perfect addition to any home theater."

Products displayed in the "luxury skybox" area of the LG booth include a 42-inch HDTV plasma display (Model MU-42PZ90XC); a 42-inch widescreen LCD HDTV monitor featuring LG's proprietary Super In Plane Switching (IPS) technology; a 15-inch LCD HDTV monitor (Model RU-15LA61), and a 17-inch widescreen (15:9) HDTV monitor (Model L172WT).

Visitors to other areas of the LG booth will see an array of products for retail, education and business applications, including plasma and LCD displays in a wide variety of screen sizes, with a variety of features specifically developed for each channel's special needs. For example, all of LG's new plasma displays contain image-sticking prevention options that minimize the "burn-in" issues inherent to plasma technology. In LCD displays, LG's proprietary "Super IPS" technology offers a wide, 176-degree viewing angle, allowing distortion-free viewing from almost any angle.
