New Model Offers Ability to Display Personalized Pictures and ArtworkNew Model Offers Ability to Display Personalized Pictures and Artwork
LAS VEGAS, May 8, 2007 - Delivering on its promise of bringing stylish design and increased functionality into all of its home appliance products, LG Electronics, the world's leading room air conditioner manufacturer, showcased its first-of-its-kind, picture-frame air conditioner as part of its popular ART COOL product line at the 2007 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show in Las Vegas, May 8-10 (Booth C3713).
The ART COOL line is LG's premium, design-oriented air conditioner series, which also includes renditions of classic art pieces by famous painters such as Van Gogh and Sisley featured on the product's front panel, transforming household white goods into stylish objects of art. The picture-frame unit will be on display at the industry trade show, along with other select ART COOL models.
The new picture-frame air conditioner allows consumers to display a favorite picture, drawing or any type of printed image - up to approximately 17-by-17 inches - under its transparent front panel, adding a personal touch to any room, while still increasing air quality and comfort on a hot summer day. Pictures can be changed whenever the consumer desires by simply opening the panel and replacing the image.
"Our picture-frame air conditioner is a fresh approach enabling consumers to incorporate their own taste and style into what has traditionally been a pretty ordinary home appliance," said John Herrington, president of LG Electronics USA, Digital Appliances. "The evolution of our ART COOL line continues to delight consumers, combining cutting-edge technology and stylish designs."
This innovative 'work of art' provides consumers with more unique features than conventional air conditioners available on the market today. The LG ART COOL's interior, wall-mounted evaporator is slim and lightweight, providing cool, crisp air to any room. The outdoor condensing unit provides quiet operation, making it neighbor-friendly.
The LG ART COOL is the only duct-free air conditioning series offering a three-way airflow with computer-controlled vanes that simulate a natural breeze. This feature creates a more natural flow of air to eliminate hot or cold spots from a room. The system also features an ultra-quiet fan and motor, making it the preferred choice for any space within the home, bedroom, office, school, health center, etc.
The LG ART COOL line also features the Plasma Air Purifying System, which removes air impurities - such as microscopic contaminants, dust, pet hair and pollen - for a healthier living environment. It also includes a dehumidifying feature, which quickly removes excess moisture from interior spaces. Other key features include:
" Jet Cool option to provide speedy and powerful cooling to a warm room in 30 minutes
" Auto Restart to restart the unit to its previous settings in case of a power failure
" Sleep Mode function which automatically adjusts temperature settings to create a more comfortable sleeping environment
" 24-Hour Timer to automatically turn the unit on and off at different intervals during the day
LG has maintained the global number one position in residential air conditioner sales for seven consecutive years, and has sold more than 10 million units in the global market every year since 2004. In 2006 alone, LG sold more than 12 million units accounting for the largest market share in the world.
