LG G1 65 inch 4K Smart OLED TV

The picture on this is amazing and the ability for it to hang so close to the wall is great. Also the hdmi 2.1 input options make this future proof

It took the power on button to understand the hype around this OLED panel. The response from my installation assistant was That Black is Black! Even from the initial setup screen you can see how good the picture is. The colours are bright and the darks are dark, even in the Eco display the richness of colour is excellent, and switch to Vivid and you have yourself a technicolour dreamcoat of a screen! Paired with my set top box on 2160p 10 bit setting the G1 automatically adjusted the display to deeper rich colours so there was no work needed to find the optimum settings.
The G1 is super thin too, you almost don't notice it's there from the side profile, you have to double check when you walk in that it hasnt disappeared! That being said it doesn't stop the G1 from packing some weight, over 20kg, making it a 2 person install job!
The UEX is nice, things seem to all be in one place on the home screen which is handy and the menus are easy to navigate. There is a great selection of apps available from the webOS so plenty of options to suit your subscriptions. The quick menu offers a number of useful options and can be customised to suit your requirements. But the extended menu could be a little friendlier, the ability to simply go back from a selected menu isn't there and you have to start from the beginning if you go into the wrong option. Connectivity for sound is also a little frustrating, using a soundbar for audio when watching through built in apps I found you have connect via Bluetooth, but it doesn't seem to connect automatically, despite being the only device paired, you have to manually select, waiting for a menu to appear to select the device then another menu to connect. It's a bit of an unnecessary process. It's what loses a star for me to be honest. The sound itself is as expected from a wall mounted TV, so I'd say a soundbar is needed if you want that proper Dolby Atmos experience, the TV speakers just don't live up to a full set up if you are used to it.
If you are in the market for an OLED then it's what you should expect to pay, 55 inches is probably too small to do the G1 justice, you want that big screen, big colour, experience but for that you will to have to pay for it. There are probably cheaper alternatives out there so I'd say it comes down to brand preference. You know what to expect from LG, and the G1's look and feel warrant the price tag. It's a great looking product, and performs to an exceptional level. Picture perfect!

I purchased the LG OLED G1 to upgrade my LG C8. The new Evo OLED and addition of HDMI 2.1 were such massive selling features to me, but I couldn’t of expected the huge improvement the New LG G1 delivered.
The ultra slim gallery design that the LG G1 can deliver is incredible, and I haven’t even used the included wall mount.
The brightness of the new Evo OLED is such a huge improvement when compared to my old OLED, I’m still blown away with just how bright it can get almost a month later.
Gaming is also amazing, having connected a next gen console to it, I can finally get the full benefit of 120fps gaming and I can definitely feel the improvement and see the improvement in my scores and clearly shows how much better LG G1 is opposed to its competitors

We have been so impressed with the TV and it’s definitely an upgrade from what we had previously. The quality of the gaming with the PS5 is exceptional - it has great HDR and refresh rate and everything is so crisp.

The TV looks excellent when hung on the wall, although it was quite a faff to hang and we had to take some of the wall out behind but that’s only because we wanted no wires to show and as the TV is so thin you need a cavity to run them down.

Would absolutely recommend the TV and I am sold on LG products moving forward.

I did a lot of research before purchasing the G1. I have never owned an OLED before and cannot believe how spectacular the detail is. I bought the TV mostly for gaming on next gen consoles and the graphics are spectacular. However would recommend getting the G1 professionally installed and especially on a plasterboard wall as the bracket supplied has specific requirements to wall mount which apart from the evo panel is the other great feature of this TV. Well worth the price vs the Sony A90J. Was a Sony only customer my entire life until I purchased the G1. Best OLED TV on the market in my opinion especially for gaming.

This was an upgrade from my previous LG OLED TV (C7).
From first impressions even just taking out the box, I was pleasantly surprised. The design alongside the wall mount truly captures how a TV should look and feel.

Quickly moving on to once it was installed and devices (Sky Q, PS5 and others) plugged in, with a little tuning following online guides the picture is perfect and what I truly want from an OLED. The little bit noticeable improvements from my C7 to the G1 (and more importantly the evo screen) are a welcome enhancement to watching tv. From sports to films it captured everything as it should.
Gaming was a joy with the specific modes and again allowed me to fine tune how my games were displayed through my PS5 and it’s full capability.

Now where it lets itself down - with its design, it’s an incredibly thin tv and feels like it would be quite fragile so it’s a definitely handle with *more* care TV.
This isn’t helped by the no gap wall bracket the G1 comes with. I was interested particularly around the wall flush mount as I’ve used alternatives before and unfortunately this one doesn’t hit the mark. It’s rather difficult to install and perhaps I’d even go as far as saying a professional may be best to.

All in all, I’m very happy with the LG G1 and would thoroughly recommend it.

I bought the LG CX 65” in June and it’s the best big purchase I’ve ever made. The picture quality settings are top notch for both SD and HDR when set up right (cinema home is the best “default” picture without a professional technician I’ve ever seen).

HDR gaming on my PS5 is immaculate with perfect deep/true blacks and the peak brightness is perfect for gaming in dark rooms (which is what HDR is intended to be viewed in).

Only thing I would love to see is the gaming dashboard feature the C1’s have in an upcoming firmware for the CX.

Totally amazed at how slim the tv is especially being installed on the wall flat, it has freed up a lot of space in my living room, thankfully I can now get rid of my tv stand console as I ran the cables through the wall into the back spare room making the install look so much cleaner almost like the marketed images. Do note that legs are not part of this model, this didn’t affect me as my intention was to mount it on the wall.

Fantastic wall art mode, the colours are truly life like, the brightness when in a well lit room can be noticed but to the ordinary eye this won’t really be as noticeable.

The Dolby atmos in the built in sound is fairly good talking in to account the size of the screen and the innovation, though I would recommend having an additional sound output like a sound bar/ system. The user interface on the tv is very easy to use and navigate the handy remote even provides shortcuts to the most common apps that I used on my previous tv which was a little longer to start up as a lot of navigation menus had to be clicked.

Pros:
-Very slim (great for smaller rooms provides a lot more space, especially if you get rid of the tv console)
- great refresh rate for all rounder watching, especially gaming. Sports and movies are also clear but of course the clarity of the screen does depend on the source resolution and quality.
- voice assistant works a treat
- cable recess provides 23mm space to place cabling great for on wall mounting

Cons:
- pretty pricey compared to others on the market (but you are paying for the slim feature and high end tech spec)
- power cable is fixed so pre placement is vital in planning the install
- Energy rating is pretty low, but saying that majority of TVs fall under lower energy banding
- slight reflection on screen from external lighting mainly due to the glossy screen finish ( but still not a major drawback)

Overall a great innovation and tech combined in to such a small body that it truely does blow you away. Only had it up for a week/two and received many compliments from friends and family when the have popped over. I love mostly the simplicity of the design and how amazingly slim it is.

This is an all-round amazing Television.

Cons:

- Fairly expensive
- Doesn't come with a TV stand so you have to purchase separately if you don't want/can't have it wall-mounted.

Really good quality and really tin tv was amazed at it really amazing picture quality can tell there is big difference from led to OLD and amazing sound to really good quality

I enjoy watching movies and this TV has brilliant moive pictures quality and same with sport the sharpness for sport is amazing. I was so amazed how thin was the TV and how good the voice remote is use that to get to BBC iplayer or nextflix and how all the app are on thinQ makes it so easy to get to different things.
