What People Are Saying

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 11 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Just what this home needed Have an open living room /dining room area and wanted to cool the living room and partially the dining room. This unit exceeded all expectations by easily cooling both areas. Easy to install and looks great too. Have to pat myself on the back for making this purchase. August 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by This A.C. unit operate's very well. I am very satisfied with this A.C. Love all the features. Very quiet compared to my past A.C.'s. I bought this unit because it was an LG. And the review's were all very positive. The exhaust hose does get a bit warm. I read that another customer had wrapped some pipe insulation around it.I think I will try that because I just got my electric bill and was quite surprised at the increase of my bill. We just got though a heat wave the last 3 week's. My past window unit's were a lot cheaper to run. I will have to try the energy saver feature and see if it help's. Other than that I am very satisfied. :-) August 2, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by very loud. seems to malfunction at times it is very loud. needed it for my bedroom so it' s hard to get to sleep. sometimes have to hit remote several times in order for it to work and at times have different readings, remote says 70 degrees machine says 7 degrees. does not cool off as good as window unit! would have returned it but husband threw out the box August 2, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Does a great job cooling. Neat, clean design and easy to use. Moves easily from room to room and sets up is less than a minute. Cools well in Florida's high humidity. July 31, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product, excellent value I bought this for the a large front bedroom with a sliding front window. The vent was easy to fit and secure in the window and the unit cools the whole room in no time and keeps it cool. The unit makes some noise but nothing that will keep you from enjoying a comfortable nights sleep. I highly recommend this product it is a great value for the price. July 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Air Conditioner Cools the room in about 20 minutes. Love that all the operations are accessible from the remote. Very easy install. July 15, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by It has been a good addition My wife and I purchased this item due to not being able to climb on top of house to do the work needed for the swamp cooler. There is one recommendation that I would make. That would be to add some type of insulation to put around the exhaust hose. Because it is thin enough that a lot of heat escapes into the room and makes it harder to cool. We have purchased two of them. Then found some fiberglass pipe insulation to wrap around the exhaust hose and it has helped. July 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by This A/C unit is Fairly quiet and cools quickly This product from LG was great right out of the box. It cools quickly and is fairly quiet. I have also gotten the chance to use the dry feature this also works well. I am using this unit to cool an office in a shop environment. I am constantly on the phone and in and out of the office and the unit manages to keep it cool with out running constantly. I like the power saver function as well. The remote control is easy to use and read. The only down side is the fan was making an odd sound the first few days but I think it just needed a little break-in. July 15, 2014

Does it need to sit upright for 24 hour before 1st use?

I read (someplace) that I should allow my new a/c unit to stand upright for 24 hours before I first plug it in. Is this true?

Answer:
We appreciate your interest in this air conditioner. While not always required, this delay in use should be done if the device has been on its side, or inverted, or positioned any way other than its intended upright position. This is to allow separation of the oil and coolant used within the sealed system of the device.

Answer:
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this air conditioner. Unplug the machine and allow it to sit for about 45 seconds to a minute. After this time, reconnect it and test it again. If the air conditioner still does not operate, then the unit may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

In addition, the manual says to vent hose at the same level That it's attached to the air conditioning unit and not let it drop down. In order to vented outside my patio door it needs to drop down to the floor level. My question is - is that okay, Despite what the manual says, or Was the salesman at Home Depot misinforming me? do I need to get another unit that's meant for venting through patio sliding doors?

Answer:
We regret the incorrect information you have been provided by this salesman. If the exhaust duct is lowered, humid air will not be able to be expelled from the duct, as it will continue to attempt rising, as heat and humidity will naturally do. It is only recommended to install this duct in a window.
