What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy setup and works wonderfully! We bought this to supplement a central a/c unit that was bowing out while we saved enough money to replace the central unit. This portable unit far surpassed our expectations. It was easy to set up and it cooled great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This AC has been great! This AC unit has served us well over the summer months. I don't know how, or why, we ever lived without it. The only complaint I have is that the remote for the unit doesn't work well for us. You pretty much have to be in direct sight lines and not too far away to get it to work. Otherwise, no complaints whatsoever.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The unit doesn't work above 85F inside temp This is a horrible produce. I opened a ticket with LG support the day after I bought this unit. Their support consultant called me promptly the next morning at 7:45 AM. Cudos to Randy! Unfortunately during the troubleshooting, it seemed that the unit was working just fine. My Problem: As soon as inside temps reach around 85F, the compressor would kick in for a few seconds and then quit. I have another AC in my RV that is working fine and I have the temp set at 85F when I'm out. Thank God it's going. This LG unit quits working when it's more than 85F. It regularly trips my 15Amp trip switches - 2 to 5 times a day. Even when the temps aren't that high. Isn't the idea of an AC to keep the temps down in stead of letting it warm up so much that it quits working because of the heat? In order for me to have this unit work until about 12PM is to start lowering the temps during the evening to the low 70's so it could have a running start in the morning up until about noon when it reaches mid 100's. By that time I'm freezing in the midle of summer in AZ. By Around 12PM is when the circuit breakers quit and the unit dies. When I reset the breakers, after about 15 minutes, all I get is the fan turning on and the Compressor kicking in for a few seconds - mostly less than 60 seconds at a time. Until sundown when it starts getting cooler again. Who needs an Airconditioner when it's cool but not when it's hot?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This unit will cool you down ... Purchased this unit to beat the high temps this summer and it has kept the sleeping area cool and nice . Works well and adjusts to your needs as the temps goes down. Usually pre-cool the room and then leave the fan on to keep the sleeping temp just right. Can be a bit noisy but the comfort out weights the air volume. I would recommend this unit to anyone.

My unit quit blowing cold air what could cause that?

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this portable air conditioner. Loss of cold air flow could be caused by blocked venting, a leak in the exhaust duct, a full moisture collection tank or loss of coolant in the sealed system. What does it mean when the word heat flashes on a lg lp1414shr?

Asked by: Momooo
The active mode will be shown in the LCD display on this portable air conditioner. HEAT is one of the available modes of operation on this device. As such, when the device is in the HEAT mode, the HEAT designation should light on the display panel.

How do you empty water

Asked by: Ronald 333
When the internal water collection tank is full, FL will appear in the display and the air conditioner will turn off until the tank is emptied. Remove the water plug on the back of the product. Install the end point of the drain pipe to the unit, and put the other end of the pipe into a bucket. (Bigger than 28oz) Press the TIMER and DOWN buttons simultaneously to activate drain pump inside of product. This pump will be active for 3 minutes. (If you want to stop draining before 3 minutes, you can press TIMER and DOWN buttons simultaneously again.) Pull out drain pipe from the product. Reassemble the drainage cover.

LP1415SHR vs LP1414SHR

What is the difference between LP1415SHR vs LP1414SHR models they seem the same to me
Asked by: sergio
Sergio, you would be correct in your assessment that the LG 14,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner Cooling & Heating, Model # LP1414SHR and the LG LP1415SHR are exactly the same unit. Their release dates are a year apart so the LP1415SHR can be considered the replacement for the LP1414SHR. The Model number reflects the year of manufacture...^IFV
