My guests often forget to turn it off as they explore the city for the day, yet my bills are low. The only downside is that the filter is hard to clean, and it's tedious work to clean the air vent panel of dust.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great product; while it worked Let me start out by saying that the vast majority of my electronic devices are LG products and I am extremely happy and satisfied with both their quality and performance in the time I have owed them. However: I bought this product on 7/6/2015 and installed it on my sun room. It worked great until the heating element shorted out in early April 2016. It still gets cold at night were I live until the middle of May. LG took care of the problem fully under warranty, although it took over a month and two different contractors to diagnose and repair the unit. The first contractor was a total jerk, idiot and let me know he hated working on window units over and over again. He acted like he did not know the first thing about repairing the unit and made sure I knew this. He diagnosed the problem correctly, left and was suppose to contact me with a future date and time of repair. I never heard from him again even though I called him several times. I called LG customer support several times asking for "updates" on my warranty repair. Each time I was told I had to wait for the "contractor" to contact me. After several of these calls, I demanded for and received someone at LG that took care of my problem without excuses or telling me I have to wait. He contacted A&E Repair and they took care of my problem in about a weeks time and they were extremely friendly and competent. The unit, again, worked great until the middle of March 2017, when the HVAC system experienced catastrophic failure. Luckily, I had purchased a 5-year Home Depot Protection Plan for $100 for the unit and was able to use the e-card they provided me to fully replace my unit due to the fact there are not any contractors that work on window units in my area of the country the they are authorized to use. Thankfully, due to the Home Depot Protection Plan, I was only out $52.63 for the difference in the price of the 5-year Home Depot Protection Plan for a new window AC/Heating unit. Overall, the unit worked great when it was not in need of repair. I can't say that I can recommend this product to anyone due to the problems I experienced with the unit. That point is actually mute since this model has been discontinued. Thankfully, nobody else will have to deal with the hassle of purchasing one of these and experiencing the hassles that I have. Hopefully, LG has fixed the problems with this unit in the model that replaces it; the LW1216HR. I would not hold my breath though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Product! Easy to use, smart modern no-nonsense design! Works great! Will cool a large livikng room and adjacent dining room. Will also heat the immediate area in front of it and slowly heat the entire large area. Quiet operation, more quiet than the unit it replaces. Remote is simple and easy to operate, and it is worth whatever effort needed to provide the 240 Volt AC, 20 Amp power it requires. Well done! May order another one soon!

The clean filter light is on. Already cleaned but the light is still on. What do I need to do to reset it and so it turns off. I just got this unit a couple of weeks ago.

Do I need to run the a.c. unit to the fuse box out side

The LG Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW1215HR has to be plugged into its own dedicated standard 250V, 3-wire grounding outlet protected by a 20 Amp. time delay fuse or a 20 amp circuit breaker...^IFV

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this air conditioner. The heater function of this machine will cycle on and off in order to maintain its temperature. There is no method available to change this operation.

What does it mean when the E/Saver light glows yellow instead of green? If it means service is needed, what kind of service?

We appreciate your interest in this air conditioner. The ENERGY SAVER mode is designed to operate only while the air conditioner is running in the COOL mode. The difference between the Energy Saver mode and the standard Cooling mode is that the fan shuts off at the same time as the compressor, and will cycle up to test the air temperature every 3 minutes. If the temperature is rising during that 3 minutes, then the compressor and the fan will both turn back on to cool the room. If the temperature remained fairly close to constant during those 3 minutes, then the fan will shut off again, and will wait for another 3 minutes. Can I use as a through the wall installation with 2 by 6 studs? Is there a standard 16 by 26 sleeve available for the installation. If so what is the part number

We appreciate your interest in this air conditioner. It is not recommended to use this device as a Through-the-Wall air conditioner or with any manner of wall sleeve. Doing so can cause cover of the ventilation on the cabinet, resulting in premature failure of the cooling system. Proper operation of this device would have it located in a standard window.

Is it normal for the heat function to keep turning off? It's not on energy saver. I have it set to heat.

I have this same question! It blows hot air for approximately 75 seconds, then stops blowing for 3 minutes. The cycle repeats over and over. I called tech support, and they said it's because my room is too small for the 12,000 BTUs. Don't believe that. It was installed about 2 months ago.
