Rated 3 out of 5 by from 2nd Unit, First Unit Bad Bought 1st unit in 2005 ... outside fan spun on shaft within 30 days. Bad fan caused internal compressor overheat to engage. Unit repaired, no cost, under warranty ... but the damage was done to compressor. Compressor overheat protection engaged when outside tempature was over 95 degrees. LG would not replace unit. Recently replaced 1st unit with 2nd exact unit after 7 years service because of compressor overheat issue.

I shopped and could find very little from the competition to compare with the features, value and quality of this one. It also had several bonuses, Energy saver, Timer, Heater & a remote. I live in the High desert near Joshua tree CA. We can typically do well with cooling by a evaporative cooler. How ever that changes dramatically when the Monsoon season hits with its high humidity. This unit does very well with the help of some fans to cool our 1400 sf living area. Its going to be nice to have the heater in that room this winter. We are very happy with its performance. We have solar, and I'm constantly monitoring our consumption of electricity, and I am very please in this regard as well, because I see a 28% difference. My only thing as is all wall units from whom ever manufactures these is the noise, which this unit is substantially less than our previous unit inside but is just as loud outside. Home depot made the sale very easy and delivered it to our door in the country.

The second one showed up and it was frezzing. the company they sent is no good. They have to take the air with them and never call you back. They said there was nothing they could do unless they saw it iced up. So now it is summer and the air is no good and I'll have to pay a GOOD company to try to fix this peice of junk.

Room is cooler - electric bill is lower - not too loud. Now the summers are comfortable and really gets cool in large living/room den combo. One of the smartest buys yet - looking forward to being warmer in the winter also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great A/C I have used this A/C all summer long and it is relatively quiet and does a great job of cooling my kitchen and den. The main A/C went out mid-summer and surprisingly it kept the 2330 sq ft home I have at a temp that was quite bearable. I could actually sleep at night. i just wish the oscillating portion had a wider swing to it.

How do I clean the air filter? Is there just the one filter in the front?

The Air Filter for the LG 23,500 BTU - Heat/Cool Window Air Conditioner with Remote, Model # LW2410HR is located behind the front grille on the air conditioner. The inlet grille can be opened by pulling out the bottom of the inlet grille. It can also be opened downward by pulling the top of the inlet grille out. After removing the air filter, you can wash it using lukewarm water below 40°C (104°F) and then gently shaking the excess water from the filter completely. You will find instructions for this in the 'Maintenance and Service' section on page 20 of your owner's manual for the unit...^IFV

I cleaned my filter and the outer gate when the "clean  filter" light came on. But, the light hasn't gone away. What can I do?

We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this air conditioner. This red indicator light is typically related to the CLEAN FILTER alert. The ‘Clean Filter’ LED will light up to notify you that your filter needs to be cleaned. After cleaning the filter, press “Temp ^” and “Temp v” buttons together to turn off ‘Clean Filter’ light. The filter reset must be done from unit control panel. The buttons on the remote control will not perform in this fashion.
