What People Are Saying

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 99 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Efficient and good-looking dryer! I bought this dryer because of the great quality I'd heard regarding LG appliances. After using this dryer for several months I can attest to the first-rate quality of LG products. This dryer is not just good looking, it's smart and efficient (as long as you know how to use the settings). I'd definitely recommend this dryer to anyone looking for a quality product. Rated 5 out of 5 by Outstanding Dryer Handles large amounts of clothes and always drys completely. No wrinkles, easy to use, excellent product. August 11, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Dryer! I got this to match the LG washer I just bought (which I love, by the way.) Was glad to see LG makes the gas version, as those seem hard to find. It seems to have a bit of a problem drying a queen size comforter--it fits just fine, but always comes out with damp spots. I just run it through again on a timed cycle and it comes out fine. Love the little tune it plays when the cycle is over! July 29, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Smart Looking I bought this washer because of the Consumer reviews. After 2 months I'm still having problems with how much detergent to use. I have noticed some garments have a film &/or stiffness after drying. I find a second rinse helps but there goes my CA water conservation. The videos don't help either. I still think more water is needed when I see some clothes dry after the first water is dispensed. I will keep adjusting till I get it right. July 26, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 Great dryer Love it, love all the bells and whistles. Quiet, great machine. Highly recommend it. July 23, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 Love it I know it looks complicated, but it really is not, I love the fact that it sits in a closet right off my living room, and it's so quite, I don't have to turn up the volume on my tv or stereo. I love being able to peek in the top of the machine and watch it. It's the little things in life that amuse me. This machine is great. Highly recommend it. July 23, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by love this product i was in the market for a dryer as mine quit working and was 15 years old, I searched online and read the reviews of many dryers, and chose this one. It is amazing, so many features, from the large drum and special cycles right down to the charming end of drying charm. I have been so impressed with my other LG products and continue to be with this one. I love the controls being in the front so easy to read and use them. My clothes come our perfect. I will continue to buy LG products, never been disappointed with anything I purchased from them. June 27, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by great product the best dryer I have ever owned would recommend to anyone who needs dryer. June 21, 2015

Answer:
All dryers are front loader.

When they say "top loader" or "front loader" they are referring to the style that matches the washing machine.

A front loader washing machine has a different door than the top loader, and the dryers match.

So even though a "top loader" dryer has the door in the front, it will match the "top loader" dryer. Here is a photo of my "top loader" dryer with my top loader washer.

Answer:
This may be a bit confusing but the website is correct. Even though ALL dryers have their doors in the front, there are two categories: FRONT- and TOP-loaders. Top-loaders are paired with the top loading washers and like the washer have the control panes on TOP (just like this model here).

Font-loader look very different, they ALWAYS the the control panel in the FRONT, have a glass door, and match up with our front-loading washer. - another difference is that Front Loaders are stackable.

I'm attaching an image to show, the different look of a front-loader. Thank you for your question :)

Im trying to decide between the DLG1102W and DLG4871W. I noticed the DLG1102w has almost no reviews so im hesitant to buy. Are the components basically the same?

Answer:
I have the DLG1102W, and I LOVE it. It dries cotton/normal in only 41 minutes, and it takes 55 minutes to dry a full load of towels. It does not have a steam setting, but I've never tried "cleaning" my clothes with only steam, anyway. If I want them clean I wash them.

Ensure that you clean the ducts that vent outside before you install whichever unit you buy. I used the Hey Tom dryer cleaner from flylady.net, but you can also use a service or a chimney sweep. Cleaning the ducts will keep your dryer working efficiently and prevent fires.

Answer:
The DLG4871W is a very new model and therefore has less reviews so far.
Two differences: It has an Easy Front Control Panel with LED Display and a Freshen Up program (the DLG4871W doesn't).

Can I get an instruction sheet for the 383EEL3002D LP Conversion Kit?

I have a technician who needs the instructions for disassembling the dryer DLG1102W in order to install the orifice for LP conversion (383EEL3002D). Unfortunately, the instructions did not come with the kit. May I please get a copy of them? Thanks!

Answer:
We had the same problem. It was sooooo hard to remove the front panel. The technician said that every year LP comes out with new models, so it makes it hard to know everything about every model. He was a licensed gas/appliance technician, as indicated was required by the conversion part. The little instruction sheet that came with the orifice did not cover how to remove the panel, because it likely works with different models. And the owners manual did not cover that, either. When I called LG, they said that they do not have instructions, likely because they don't want homeowners trying to do this themselves.

In our case, the sheet metal of the front panel was actually hung up on the inside of the dryer. He had to free it, and then the panel came right out. He removed all of the screws from the front of the dryer.

As he was working on it, I told him we were gong to be left with a pile of parts, with only the front panel still standing. But that's what the problem was - there was a little lip on the metal that was hung up on the dryer drum inside.

Answer:
Unfortunately, we do not have conversion instructions available to provide, as we are not qualified gas technicians or installers. The instructions should have been located on the back of the range next to the gas pressure regulator.

It's about 29" front to back, but you need a bit more clearance for the ductwork and plug.

Answer:
23 inches from the back of the unit. But you have to include about a minimum of 8 inches for the gas line and duct exhaust so that would be 30 inches out from the wall. We have cabinets above and this is a perfect distance. We can still nicely reach into the cabinets - even the top shelf. The biggest plus is now the room lighting brightens the front panel and the panel is not dark if it were to exist in the back of the dryer unit.

Answer:
As shipped from the factory, this dryer is configured for use with natural gas. It can be converted for use with LP (Liquefied Propane) gas. Gas pressure must not exceed 13 inches of water column.
If necessary, the correct orifice (for the LP, orifice kit order part number 383EEL3002D) should be installed by a qualified technician and the change should be noted on the dryer.
