Rated 1 out of 5 by from One star for the Blu-Ray player I bought this a year ago. It was the only wireless streaming box with Blu-Ray in stock at my favorite local retailer. It's the first LG product I've ever purchased, and it may well be my last. The Blu-Ray player worked fine - one star for that - but the Smart TV is by far the dumbest streaming box I've ever encountered. Couldn't connect to Wi-Fi reliably, constantly froze up requiring endless reboots, picture quality issues, etc. Thought it was our ISP - upgraded to the ISP's recommended level for streaming - no improvement. Updated the box's software - no improvement. Broke down and bought another popular streaming box and it's been a dream - plug-and-play, great quality picture, never drops Wi-Fi connection - no issues whatsoever. I can't believe we struggled an entire year with the BP550! Keeping it for use as a disc player only.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for US made Blu Ray Discs I bought this because I have some blu ray discs that were made in the UK and want to be able to play them. So far I have tried to play them and have been unable to. My British DVD's play well, so that's no problem. If there's another way to achieve it I'm willing to try, I have changed the nation of origin to UK. It's more expensive than a regular player which is why I bought this particular model.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Some disappointments We've had the DVD player with Wi-Fi for about 6 months now and other than Amazon App not working hardly at all and unusable Apps. included the machine itself works just fine. Videos play on it with no problems and Netflix and VUDU Apps work well also.

Never used the 3D feature and our Netflix wouldn't work on it, but YouTube, Hulu, and the DVD/Blu-ray portions worked great. About a month ago the internet, not just WIFI, so I guess the streaming stopped working. A couple days ago the DVD stopped working. Wouldn't turn off or play a movie, but the open and close still worked so I was happy I didn't lose my DVD. 3.5 years of use and we got this on sale so I am happy. :)

My 3 d blu-ray home theater b h 514 O s. It does not have power i've changed outlets. No light comes on with any of the buttons on remote or system.

Why does it mean discontinuing select apps April 2018? Will we no longer be able to stream Netflix from this blu ray player?

It no longer has Hulu and YouTube for quite some time. Probably will discontinue all apps end of April. This notice pops up discontinuance of select apps

I cannot play regular DVD's, there is a note in the top left corner stating to check the dvd regional code. What is it and how do I fix this issue?

This unit has a regional code printed on the rear of the unit. This unit can play only BD-ROM or DVD discs labelled same as the rear of the unit or “ALL”. ^AC
