I bought this monitor for my PS5 and I wanted to trying to get 120hz but all I get if 60hz. I have 2.1 hdmi cable but I do not know what else to try. This monitor says it does 165hz so I don’t see why it’s not work.

You do not need HDMI 2.1 cables since the LG 24” UltraGear™ Full HD Gaming Monitor, Model # 24GQ40W-B does not have an HDMI 2.1 port. HDMI 2.1 cables are only necessary for monitors that have HDMI 2.1 ports that support 4K @ 120Hz. The HDMI port on the 24GQ40W-B is an HDMI 2.0 port and an HDMI-certified High-Speed HDMI®/™ cable or an HDMI-certified High-Speed HDMI®/™ cable with Ethernet will suffice. The monitor supports a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080 @ 165 Hz over DisplayPort only and it supports a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080 @ 120Hz and 144Hz over HDMI. Make sure that you have the settings for your PS5 set to output 1920 x 1080 @ 120 Hz...^Ivan

Does this have built in speakers so I can hear my game audio?

The LG 24” UltraGear™ Full HD Gaming Monitor, Model # 24GQ40W-B does not have built-in speakers. It has a 3.5 mm Headphone Out that you can use with wired headphones or connect to external computer speakers, or connect to a Soundbar, an external receiver, or a Home Theater System using an appropriate audio cable...^Ivan
