What people are saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from V/G Price & Quality Purchased this LG Monitor via the internet and am so very pleased...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Worth the Purchase There are several large flaws with this monitor. - it is grainy, always. I have hooked up 4 different computers and an Apple TV to this device to try to find a good use for it. However despite hours of configuration no device looks good on this monitor - The controls are light sensor controls and they are close together. This causes issues when trying to use the menu or adjust brightness or color. Often they monitor will shut it's self off when navigating in the menu because it senses light movement near the on/off button

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not quite for photo editing Only after using this monitor for couple of years for photo editing I discovered that I was deliberately shifting colors in all my photos into something that looks terrible on properly calibrated monitors. Maybe this model is capable of proper color rendition and I just had the wrong setting all the time. But this monitor cannot give the proper neutral colors without tinkering with controls, calibration software or whatever. I never tried making calibrations with any of my previous monitors. Only simple adjustments to make the picture look pleasant to the eye. Now I upgraded to 32" monitor of other brand which has a direct switch option between 100% sRGB and various other color modes. What a difference... Now I would say that any photographer who does not care to spend the time calibrating his/her monitor should get the one which has the direct 100% sRGB setting option. That is not to say that I was not generally satisfied with the quality of picture. I will keep it as a second monitor for non-photo editing purpose.

how do I get the monitor to view as soon as my laptop starts/restarts without opening the laptop lid?

Asked by: Keahilele
We appreciate your interest in this monitor. The sending of the signal to the monitor is a feature of the computer/laptop itself. There are no settings on the monitor that will adjust this. If there are additional questions about this device, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

Audio out (headphones)

The LG 27" monitor (27MP65HQ-P) has an audio port on the back... supposedly it is an audio out port, so... How would you have audio out of the monitor? From what source? I'm guessing it would come in through the HDMI connection, yes? (The port location, in the back, is kinda lame for headphones, I think it would serve speakers better, but is there enough volume.)
Asked by: Rgng
We appreciate your interest in this computer monitor. The connection in question has been designed specifically for headphones. The only signal port available to provide an audio signal is the HDMI, as suggested. If you use the HDMI PC mode, it is possible to have compatibility problems, as mentioned on page 9 of the owner’s manual. This is most compatible with Audio/Video devices, such as a Disc Player.

Does the display area go all the way to the edge like the demo picture with the canyon photo?

I've been doing some shopping around looking into this monitor and I have a feeling that the main image with the canyon is not accurately representing how the screen area truly works. To me that's disappointing as it would be awesome if it really did display as the demo image with the canyon photo.
Asked by: aarongphoto
I just bought this monitor and the image does not extend all the way to the bezel edge. The screen surface itself does extend to the very narrow bezel, but the image comes to 3/8" from that outermost edge. That 3/8" border is black, where the computer image does not go. The viewable image is still the 27" as advertised, but I agree that the image all the way to the narrow edge would be a lot sexier.
