[LG Refrigerator] Mold on Gasket

  • Troubleshooting

Let's find out more.

When you open and close the door, the cold air inside the refrigerator meets the warm air outside.
This temperature difference creates condensation, which can lead to mold growth if not dried properly.
Dust and other debris can also accumulate on the door gasket over time.

Try this.

Is there black residue on the gasket?

➔ Clean the gasket using a warm, damp cloth.

Food residue or other debris stuck to the gasket can make it sticky, reducing its ability to seal properly and preventing the door from closing completely.
Wipe the gasket with a warm, damp cloth, then wipe again using a dry cloth.

Is the refrigerator door not closing properly?

➔ Make sure the refrigerator cover or plastic bags are not caught in the door when opening or closing it.

➔ If the gasket is loose, press it back into place.

➔ After cleaning, ensure that the shelves and drawers are correctly installed.
