LG TV - Connecting a HDMI Device

At a Glance

Connecting external devices via HDMI provides you with the best picture quality available and allows you to enjoy richer sounds when using a sound bar or receiver.

Try This

  1. Connecting an external video device.

    1 Confirm the HDMI input location on the TV.

    2 Connect the HDMI cable to the desired port (HDMI 1, 2, 3, etc.).

    Note

    HDMI input features such as ARC, 120 Hz refresh, etc. will vary depending on TV model.

    3 Connect the HDMI cable to the external video device.

    4 Press the [Input] button on the LG TV remote to open the TV's input menu.

    5 Highlight the HDMI input of the connected device and press [OK].

  2. Connecting a sound bar or receiver.

    1 Locate the eARC / ARC HDMI input on your LG TV.

    2 Connect the HDMI cable to the eARC / ARC input on the LG TV.

    Note

    eARC / ARC will be HDMI 1 or 2 depending on TV model.

    3 Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI output on the sound bar or receiver.

    4 Switch the sound bar or receiver to the correct source.

    5 Open the [Settings] menu on your LG TV

    6 Select [Sound] then [Sound Out] in the Settings menu.

    7 Select [HDMI ARC] in the [Sound Out Menu].

    8 eARC /ARC should appear on the front of the sound bar or receiver if successful. If it fails to connect. Retry setup again.
