  • The Child Lock feature on your LG washing machine is provided to prevent children or others who changing the cycle settings during a wash cycle.

  • You can enable this function by following these simple steps. To enable child lock, start by locating the Child Lock button on your washer. This may vary by model.

  • The Child Lock function can only be enabled when a wash cycle is in progress. Press and hold down the appropriate child lock button for 3 seconds during the wash cycle. When the Child Lock is enabled a CL message along with the remaining wash time will be displayed on the display panel of your washing machine.

  • Once the Child Lock has been enabled, the buttons on your washing machine accept the power button will be disabled. The Child Lock feature will stay enabled after the end of your cycle. And even when the power is turned off. The CL message on the display panel will notify you that the Child Lock feature is still on.

  • Please note that if the Child Lock is enabled, you will not be able to start your washer without disabling the Child Lock feature.

  • To deactivate the child lock, make sure that your washer is powered on and press and hold down the appropriate child lock button for 3 seconds.

  • The Child Lock feature will turn off and the control panel will be reactivated.

  • The Child Lock feature is also available on your LG dryer. The child lock function can only be enabled when a drying cycle is in progress.

  • Press and hold down the appropriate child lock button for 3 seconds during a cycle.

  • Please note that if the dryer door is open during a cycle while the child lock is enabled, you will not be able to restart the drying cycle by pressing the start button.

  • You must turn off the child lock by pressing and holding the child button for 3 seconds. This will reactivate your control panel.

  • Press Start to continue your cycle. The Child Lock feature will stay enabled after the end of your cycle and even when the power is turned off.

  • If you see the L message on the display panel will notify you that the Child Lock feature is still on.To deactivate the Child Lock make sure that your dryer is powered on.And then press and hold down the appropriate child lock button for 3 seconds.
