Tray Will Not Turn Upright

  • Troubleshooting

Flex Tray icemakers are available with either a feeler arm or an IR sensor to detect the level of ice in the bin.

  1. Please select your type of icemaker:

  2. Check the position of the tray to see if its completely upside down or only partially tilted. Then follow the steps below.

    1. Completely upside down.

If the tray is turned completely upside down, the unit will require a repair service. Please visit our Request a Repair page.

    2. Tilted tray.

If the tray is tilted, then its a normal operation. The tray will tilt approximately 5 minutes before harvesting the ice. If it doesn't harvest and the tray stays tilted for more than 30 minutes, the unit will require a repair service. Please visit our Request a Repair page.

The tray will tilt about an hour after water fills the tray so cold air can reach it better.

    3. Tilted for more than one hour.

If the tray has been tilted for more than one hour, reset the icemaker. Look on the ice maker itself, check the left side of the ice maker for the ON/OFF switch. If the ice maker is turned OFF, turn it ON and allow 24 hours for ice production to begin.

If the icemaker was ON, let's reset it. This will restart the ice production cycle. Watch the video below on how to reset the ice maker.

To reset the ice maker, make sure that:

      1. The water supply is turned ON, and no kinks should be in the lines.

      2. Press and hold the TEST/FILL button until the ice maker starts to turn/cycle.

Note: This TEST/FILL button will be on the ice maker itself. It is not the cubed ice selection button on the control panel.
