LG TV – Troubleshooting Issues with the Optical Connection

At a Glance

Audio problems with the optical connection are normally caused by a faulty cable, poor connection, or improper sound settings.

Try This

Confirm the input function of the sound bar is set to optical.

Note

Pressing the input button on the sound bar or remote should display the current input function.

Confirm the optical cable is inserted properly into the sound bar and the TV.

Note

If you try to connect it with excessive force, the terminal may become damaged.

Confirm the TV's Sound Out setting is set to Optical.

1Press the [Settings] button on the remote, then select [All Settings].

2Select [Sound] → [Sound Out].

3Select [Use Wired Speaker].

4Select [Optical Out Device].
