TV - USB File Playback

TV video lag is usually exclusive to those who use game consoles. This is not the same as audio out of sync. Video lag is identified by not seeing a response to an action (usually game controls) on the TV screen instantaneously. In most cases lag can be minimized or resolved by simple troubleshooting. These issue cannot normally be resolved by service.


Connect a USB flash drive or USB memory card reader to the TV as shown in the following illustration.

Note: Remember to disconnect a USB storage device, make sure to end the connection properly to prevent damages to the TV or files.

To Disconnect:

  • Press the Home > Input > USB Drive> USB device> Eject> Disconnect the USB.

Press the Home/Smart button on your remote to bring up your launcher bar.

Click the Input icon in the top-right.

Choose Usb Drive.

Select Eject.

From the warning, select Eject.

Disconnect the USB storage device after the prompt says you can now eject the device

  1. With the USB connected, Press Home to access the home screen.

  2. Press the Navigation buttons to scroll to Input and press enter

  3. Use the navigation keys to scroll to the device you want to browse from and press enter

  4. Select the type of files you want to see, All Media, Movie List, Photo List, or Music List.

  5. Note: All Media will allow you to browse all files on the drive, while the Movie, Photo, and Music lists will filter all available files to only show files of that type of content.

  6. Use the navigation keys to highlight a desired file and press enter to view or playback the file.

  7. The file’s thumbnail will indicate if the file is abnormal (corrupt) or unsupported by the TV.

Press the Home/Smart button on your remote to bring up your launcher bar.

Click the Input icon in the top-right.

Choose Usb Drive.

Select the type of files you want to see, All Media, Movie List, Photo List, or Music List.

Select the folder or file you wish to open.

Consult your owners manual, the file type that you are attempting to play should be in the supported file type list.

Note: If the file format you are trying to player still doesn't work. You may consider looking for a freeware program to convert the file to another format type.

General

  • The TV recognizes only a USB storage device. Phones or peripherals that would require installation of a device driver are not recognized.

  • If you connect a USB storage device to the TV through via a USB hub, your TV may not recognize the USB storage device.

  • The recognition speed of a USB storage device may differ depending on the device.

  • Only use a USB storage device which has normal music or image files.

Power and Detection

  • You may need to connect a USB storage device to an external power supply with a power adapter.

  • An electrostatic discharge can cause a USB device to malfunction. In this case, try plugging in the USB device again.

  • If the TV does not recognize a connected USB storage device, replace the cable and try again. Do not use an excessively long cable.

  • The TV does not support some USB storage devices properly. There are many brands, makes, and models of USB storage devices available we cannot guarantee compatibility with them all.

  • You can use a multi-partition (up to 4) USB storage device.

  • You can use up to 4 USB storage devices at a time by using a USB multi-card reader.

File Formats and Structure

  • Use only USB storage devices that are formatted as a FAT 32 or NTFS file system.

  • The file alignment method of a USB storage device is similar to the one of Window XP.

  • You cannot create or delete a folder saved in a USB storage device directly on the TV.

  • The number of characters for a file name is up to 100 English characters.

  • Up to 1000 including folders and files can be recognized.

  • If there are too many folders and files in one folder, it may not operate properly.

USB Size

  • The recommended capacity for a USB external hard disk is 1 TB or less and for a USB storage device is 32 GB or less.

  • If a USB external hard disk with the Energy Saving feature does not work, turn the USB external hard disk off and on again to make it work properly. For more information, refer to the user manual of the USB external hard disk.

  • USB storage devices below USB 2.0 are supported as well. But they may not work properly in the movie list.
