LG Washer – How Do I Fix Water Temperature Issues?

  • Troubleshooting

At a Glance

The water temperature used in the wash can be affected by the wash/rinse temperature selected, the distance between your home's water heater and washer, and the temperature of the water in the home's plumbing.

Try This

The hot water does not seem to be hot

The washer's distance from the home's water heater and the temperature of the water in the pipes will affect the temperature of the water the washer receives.

Resolution:

Test for hot water. From your sink, run the hot water for a few minutes. If the temperature is not to your satisfaction, try increasing the temperature on the hot water heater.

The water is cold, but I selected hot water for the cycle

The washer's distance from the home's water heater and the temperature of the water in the pipes will affect the temperature of the water the washer receives.

Resolution:

If possible, open the hot water faucet at a sink nearby to the washer and purge the cold water from the lines prior to starting your wash cycle.

The water temperature is different than the water temperature selected

When warm water or both warm and cold water are selected, the temperature of the water supplied will not be a particular temperature but will be a mixture of hot and cold water and this can be affected by the temperature of the water in the pipes and the distance between the washer and the hot water heater.

Resolution:

The cycle that is selected dictates how much hot water will be used during the fill portion of the wash cycle. Cycles such as Sanitary, Allergiene™, and Bright Whites are designed to use more hot water.

Note

Your washing machine is capable of compensating for low water temperature with 6Motion™ Wash Technology. Different cycles use different wash motions to achieve warm water cleaning performance in cooler water temperatures.
