LE Error Code

Troubleshooting Laundry Accessories, Washer Dryer Combos, Washers Last Updated 04/25/2018

An LE error code on the washer's display indicates that the motor is locked, possibly due to a heavy wash load.

Large and heavy sized loads will put a strain on the motor, causing the LE code to occur. Performing a reset on the washer will normally resolve this error with a reduced load size. But if the error code displays on every washing cycle, the unit will require a repair service.

How to reset the washing machine:

  1. Press POWER to turn the washer off.

  2. Unplug the washer from the power outlet or turn the circuit breaker to the unit off.

  3. With the power disabled, press and hold the START/PAUSE button for 5 seconds.

  4. Plug the washer back in, or turn the circuit breaker back on.

  5. For more information about how to reset your specific model, please refer to the owner's manual. Visit our Documents and Manuals page to download a copy of your owners manual.

If washing a heavy or large load, reduce the load size and attempt to restart the cycle. The washer should now be reset and the LE code cleared.

If the issue persists, LG recommends that all repairs are performed by an Authorized Service Center. Please visit our Request a Repair page for a professional service.
