Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Picture!!! We have had this TV for 3 months now and I and my family LOVE the picture and clarity of colors. We watch a lot of sports so the refresh rate and the sharpness of the picture gives us a great experience

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great TV For The Price I chose the 60SJ8000 as my first 4K TV for several reasons. I believe LG to be a solid technology leader. The specs and features for the price was very attractive. The WebOS seemed to be a good platform with access to apps that I was interested in. The magic remote is a nice feature, but i also bought a cheap compatible IR remote to "learn" its functions into a universal remote for controlling my entire system. The "quick access" feature allows for 1-click access to all your primary inputs/apps which cam be learned into a universal remote. Nice! LG's up-conversion turns even standard definition sources into much better quality pictures. This is important because, depending on your internet speed or the speed of the sources you might stream from, you can still get a good picture when choosing SD or HQ streams rather than bandwidth-hogging 1080p streams. Overall, I am very pleased with this product. We immediately watched some 4k content and of course it was great, but honestly 1080p content is so good on this TV that you don't really have to go out of your way to get a very impressive picture. My 4-star rating has nothing to do with picture quality or feature set. See my one and only gripe below. Cons/Peeves There is one feature that I would love to see added in a firmware update. For example, say you are watching a channel on Sling TV and when a commercial comes on you switch to your PC input to check emails.... When you return to the Sling TV app, it does not return you to the channel you were watching. Instead, the entire Sling TV app must start up and load again, which brings you back to the default start-up page and then you have to scroll all the way through the guide or menu screen to get back to what you were watching. I believe all apps function this way and it is a waste of time. It would be nice to have an option pop-up when you switch inputs as to whether you would like to save your current position/page/status within the app you are leaving so you can return to your show or movie, web page, game or whatever. LG, I hope you are listening.

Does the sj8000 come with a digital coaxial for a 2.1 soundsystem?

Asked by: jjjj2
The LG SUPER UHD 4K HDR Smart LED TV - 60" Class (59.5" Diag), Model # 60SJ8000 has an Optical Digital Audio Output (Toslink) that carries a digital audio stream from components such as CD and DVD players, DAT recorders, computers, and modern video game consoles, to an AV receiver that can decode two channels of uncompressed lossless PCM audio or compressed 5.1/7.1 surround sound such as Dolby Digital Plus or DTS-HD High Resolution Audio. Unlike HDMI, TOSLINK does not have the bandwidth to carry the lossless versions of Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, or more than two channels of PCM audio...^IFV

Why is the 60SJ800 model almost 2 inches shorter than the 60UH8500? Are there any other differences between the two

Asked by: Jack84
Hi Jack84. The LG SUPER UHD 4K HDR Smart LED TV w/ Nano Cell™ Display - 60" Class (59.5" Diag), Model # 60SJ8000 is a 2017 model while the 60UH8500 is a 2016 model so their designs will be different. But you also have to keep in mind that a fairer comparison between a 2016 and 2017 model would have been to compare the 2016 UH8500 series TVs to the 2017 SJ8500 series that succeeded it. Unfortunately, the 2017 SJ8500 series does not come in a 60" version...^IFV
