Are busted screens covered under warranty

Depends on what you mean by "busted". The LG 1080p Smart LED TV - 43" Class (42.5" Diag), Model # 43LF6300 has a Limited Manufacturer's Warranty of One (1) year from date of original purchase for parts and labor. You will need proof of purchase to verify that you are still within the warranty period. The warranty only covers manufacture defects and does not cover for damages due to acts of god (natural disasters), accidental damage, cosmetic damage, normal wear and tear, damages that occur dring shipment (this is handled by the retailer), misuse or abuse by the user, or Power line surges...^IFV

No sound using optical audio jack

Hello Heav77, once you connect the optical out from the TV to the sound bar, be sure to turn off the internal speakers of the TV for the sound to be routed to the optical output. Please be sure to go into the menu settings under Audio and select to correct option. ^AC
