What People Are Saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dead out of the box Tv would not turn on using the remote or the button on back. Top of the screen had a chip out of the glass over the little lip on the edge of the glass. What is up with that little lip anyway. All the way around the edge of the glass. Does not make sense to me and would seem to be a problem spot. Was really looking forward to that great screen presence but after having had to return the tv do not know if we will replace it. The thrill is gone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful TV. Beautiful Picture Quality. This us the greatest television I have not only ever owned, but ever watched in my life. The all glass design does make it extremely fragile (which makes setup a bit stressful), but the outcome is a beautiful looking television! The picture quality is the best a screen can possibly get these days. I feel like last year's E8 had better sound, but you can get over that by purchasing a separate sound system. Well worth the price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My second Oled TV. I upgraded from a 55" to a 65". My original Oled was curved and had 3D, but I wont miss those options. The picture has improved over the years. I have seen a lot of "burn in" concerns out there, but the average person will never experience this. Dont be cheap when purchasing HDMI cables. If you purchase a high end TV, spend the money on high end components.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect picture, beautiful design I really love this TV. The picture on glass is very classy and the picture quality is outstanding. I was worried that the built in soundbar would be lacking but it has great range and balance after running its internal calibrator.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible picture, easy setup I originally ordered an OLED65C7P through Amazon and because of a shipping mishap, I was upgraded to an OLED65E8PUA. This TV has far exceeded my expectations in almost every way. Right out of the box the picture is amazing and it synced up to my 4K blu-ray player and cable system without issues. When watching movies with the lights off, the border of TV disappears when images on the screen are black. I've never seen a TV that could display blacks as true as this unit does. Even when a scene changes and fades to black, there's no visible greyscale glow until the next scene begins as with my 58" plasma TV, something to be seen firsthand. The only minor issue I've noticed is that the sound output is a little soft with this unit requiring the volume being turned up to get the same volume output as with other TVs that have been in it's place. Since I have a full-blown surround system to play the audio through when watching 4K movies, this TV is the perfect video complement for a truly incredible movie viewing experience. It's an amazing TV.

Does the glass protect the screen and make it easy to clean without damage? I’m shopping for a new tv now bc our lcd was damaged by very light cleaning with microfiber cloth and a mild distilled water + isopropyl alcohol solution. Want to avoid a repeat.

Asked by: Bear057
The glass is behind the panel, it does not cover the front. Cleaning the panel will be the same as all other TV’s. Here is the cleaning instructions from the owner’s manual •• Cleaning: When cleaning, unplug the power cord and wipe gently with a soft/dry cloth. Do not spray water or other liquids directly on the TV. Do not clean your TV with chemicals including glass cleaner, any type of air freshener, insecticide, lubricants, wax (car, industrial), abrasive, thinner, benzene, alcohol etc., which can damage the product and/or its panel. Otherwise, this may result in electric shock or product damage. ^AC

You offer few dimensions of the television other than LxWxD. I need to mount my wall bracket; looking from the back, what is the dimension from the bottom (or top) of the 65" E8 to the center of the VESA mount?

Asked by: DelsFan
The LG E8PUA 4K HDR OLED Glass TV w/ AI ThinQ® - 65" Class (64.5" Diag), Model # OLED65E8PUA, like all our TVs, is a VESA Compliant TV that has a VESA Wall Mount Interface pattern of 300 x 200 mm. VESA compliance guarantees that any VESA Compliant Wall Mount that supports that same pattern will work with the TV. Regrettably, the exact measurements for how far from the bottom or the top of the panel the VESA bolt holes are on the back of the TV are not given in its specifications nor in its owner's manual. That information may be accessible from the CAD drawings for the TV and our Support Center at (800) 243-0000 may have access to the requested information...^IFV

Does the OLED55E8 have a sound bar like it's predecessor?

Asked by: JFDIT
While the 2018 model E8 OLEDs don't have a sound bar, they do have small speakers under the screen which point forward instead of (uselessly, for voice or music) speakers which point downwards or towards the rear, like with most cheap and expensive flat-panel televisions. These tweeters are really small, but effective, If you look closely, in some photos of the E8 you can see the 1" black grill traversing the full width below the screen, behind which are the tweeters. In the rear is a subwoofer (or, more accurately, a mid-woofer). I got one of these televisions for my Mother; if you are not particular the sound system on the E8 is very good. If you are an audiophile, it is very nearly tolerable. Certainly, for my Mom we are not ordering a sound bar (or sound base - I like them) as she is happy and when I am there I am not thinking the viewing experience is ruined by a pathetic sound system. Utilizing the room EQ feature (I forget exactly what it is called), which is done while holding the remote in the location most used for viewing and pressing the appropriate button on the remote, then waiting just 10 seconds or so, makes a huge, positive, difference. Like with surround processors, but probably using not as complex an algorithm, the "program" tunes the TV speakers to your room. It's not surround sound, but at least there is a lot of depth to the sound, and a little width - for two channel small TV speakers it is well more than I expected. If you are particular I'd experiment with the TV placement - we have ours on a stand at a slight angle, so there is room behind the television for the subwoofer to "work". I don't know that the should would be as good with a wall mounting; perhaps the width of the brackets would keep the television far enough off the wall for the bass to be able to "escape" from behind the television.
