What people are saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW! This is my 1st OLED ... just WOW! I bought this TV a week and a half ago and I'm really glad I did. I was back and forth between this and a comparable Sony. I finally pulled the trigger on the LG and I'm very happy. While the OTB setting looked great I took some time to adjust the picture settings for my room environment and now this set shines. I'm impressed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful TV This is the most amazing TV I’ve ever owned. I can’t even imagine anything better coming available in the years to come- it’s THAT good. The picture is simply stunning. The sound quality from the speakers really eliminates my need for an external sound bar for regular TV watching. I also like the ability to use the TV’s own GUI to control the Cable box and to display the programming guide. I’m still getting used to the picture adjustments but for me, Standard is pretty great right at the default settings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Jaw-dropping picture, performance finally! We bought our E9 with the glass screen after seeing a neighbors just before Christmas. Not cheap and would the glass screen really matter vs the C9? The glass is a marvel of design and engineering. Bright glaring sunlight glares into our TV room from 9-11:30 AM via glass doors, defeating the Samsung LED’s we’ve had but the E9 isn’t affected. I can shine an absurdly bright Surefire LED light right at the screen and still see every detail of the image playing. The E9 glass makes deep space scenes inky pure black and consuming yet still shows off every hue and imaginable color of space craft engines firing in the distance with the most vivid purples, blues and colors I’ve seen. Literally the theatre isn’t as capable as my TV now. Setup was a breeze, easiest of any TV yet just definitely have a friend help lift so you don’t stress or twist the glass. The glass is more than sturdy and from TV to remote we appreciate the quality and most of all the obvious consideration of how customers use these TV’s. Details matter and LG mostly gets them right although I find the remote a bit less intuitive that may be using Samsung very basic remotes for past 8 years. Had they just put buttons on for Play, FF, Rew and Pause, Stop I’d love it but it has Play and pause and the mouse ring is used for rewinding transport controls. Or just say ‘rewind’ then ‘stop’. Otherwise the remote is a wonder, voice control that really works with Google or Amazon Alexa. Switch to your Bluetooth headphones by saying “connect Bluetooth’. Done, every time. No hassles or learning weird commands. Press the mic button and easily see everything you can say or add your own commands. Many options on this E9 for every detail and setting but you can skip it and use the less detailed menus no problems or loss of performance. Roku stick 2019 works as well as a Roku can along with Fire and Google, excellent YouTube and built in apps, we tracked aircraft with Flight Radar 24 several days for work on the web browser, again no hassle at all. Not an LG sponsored review in any way, I paid regular price from Amazon, see Knotsofast user for review there. Happy to answer any questions if you need info or it’s useful.

Does LG make a "dumb" TV? I use streaming services (PSvue, Netflix, Amazon Prime) via Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire and have my own surround sound amp and speakers. So I would like to have your OLED display without all the other non-video options.

Asked by: artie1
Have to agree about Roku. I updated ours to the 2019 Ultra or whatever it is when we ordered the E9. We all have noticed watching from the E9 is faster, easier, and I think has significantly better quality than Roku. Plus every Roku we've had randomly freezes, claims no internet when there is, etc etc so not missing that either.

Hi Finley. Regrettably, the Sanus Wall Mount shown in the link that you gave does not indicate what VESA Wall Mount Interface Pattern it supports so we cannot determine if it can be used to mount the LG E9 Glass 55 inch Class 4K Smart OLED TV w/AI ThinQ® (54.6'' Diag), Model # OLED55E9PUA. The OLED55E9PUA has a VESA Wall Mount Interface Pattern of 300 x 200 mm. You can contact Sanus to ask if the BLT2-B1 Tilting Mount supports that pattern. What is the difference between OLED and QLED?

Asked by: bk7105
We’ve had two of the Samsung QLED and factually they are really just the same LED quality you’ll see on most non-OLED displays. Ours all suffered varying but bright distracting ”spotlights” shining in from the corners after about 6 months and uneven lighting that is clearly noticeable during movies with darker scenes. Most of all the QLED displays can’t come close to these magnificent OLED displays in saturation, HDR, colors, everything really because QLED can only manage zones of local dimming and you pay significantly for more of those of course. The OLED controls every single pixel separately - it’s actually turning them off in dark space scenes which means your eyes aren’t competing with greys for darkness and you can see tiny details so clearly like a distant ships engine firing with hues and colors that are an order of magnitude at least, superior to QLED zones. To me that’s what these LG OLED’s (E8, C9, E9 that I have experienced) do incredibly well. Definitely go see the difference before deciding I’d suggest.

What frequency of burn in problems are there ?

Asked by: Starrider8888
On our E9 65” there is Pixel Refresher in the Picture/OLED Panel Settings/Additional Settings. You can easily set it to start next time you turn the TV off, it takes about an hour and if you turn back on before it’s done, no problem. Otherwise it will display that it ran successfully at next power on. No image is on the screen during it’s run.I find that LG has genuinely considered the real-world details and caring for this investment. In fact the picture is so amazing on ours I’d risk the burn in anyway but I have a neighbor whose E8 is still perfect with no burn in or issues after 18 months and his kids watch exactly the logo heavy stuff that might be an issue left on for long periods.
