Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Hom-Bot. We love it !!! I am a very picky person when come to home cleaning, this LG Hom-Bot did an amazing job in our home. We have about 600 sq/ft living room, dinning plus kitchen with tables and chairs. After about three daily schedule cleaning, everything is spotless even under the table and desk, I never would thought it would pick up so much dust and debris. I watched the routes it took in cleaning the living room and dinner room, along with many chairs and tables Hom-Bot was able to avoid the furniture skillfully without problem. It also kind of remembered the paths each time it clean, so it will concentrate other routes next schedule. Great programming on LG engineer’s home cleaning scheme. . Expensive? Yes. But I think its worth every penny !!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ok, confession: When it comes to housecleaning, I’m a slacker. To be precise, I dust and vacuum maybe quarterly, if that. To make matters worse, I have a dog that sheds severely year-round. So I got this Robot Cleaner for its main function despite considerable skepticism about its effectiveness. In other words, I figured ANY vacuuming is better than none, but I didn’t expect great results in regards to cleaning effectiveness. Out of the box the system is quite intuitive, though there are a couple of settings I’m still trying to understand (e.g., ‘my space’). As is LG’s practice, this appliance comes with a quick start sheet along with the user manual. Both are rich with accurate graphics to ease understanding and following the instructions. So, I charge the cleaner up and hit ‘go’ on the remote. To my delight, the sucker takes off and just starts vacuuming. I lounged in the tub while it cleaned the first time; pretty neat. It swept my living room, hallway, kitchen, den, bathroom, and bedroom all on the first charge. BEWARE OF CORDS! The robot tries to go in every area it will fit. More than once it found cords (up to standard extension cord size) that wrap around the twirling ‘side brushes’ and get twisted up then stops the robot all together (see picture 1). But there was still my low expectation as to cleaning effectiveness. To my surprise and delight, after the robot docked itself on low battery, I opened the dust bin and found it stuffed (see picture 2). It turned out that the bin was just as stuffed on the first 4 runs of the robot. The downside is cleaning the ‘pet brush’ (remember, I have a dog that sheds). It takes almost as long as vacuuming a room to clean the brush (see picture 3). I like my new robot cleaner. The two primary negatives: cords and cleaning the brush. Included with the system are: 2 mop pads (which I haven’t used yet), a spare filter for the dust bin, two spare ‘side brushes’, and a brush cleaning tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought this about 10 months back and am very happy with it. The best part I like about this robot is that it picks the dust particles from the edges with the help of 2 brushes it has. It is very reliable and has never fallen down the steps while cleaning the area near the stairs. It is able to come back to its docking station from 50 feet away in my pretty open basement or negotiate very well with walls and furniture's on our 1st floor (hard wooded) area.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Cleaner Purchased the vacuum robot skeptical of its capability but was pleasantly surprised at its ability to change vacuum methods when it was on rugs and its ability to get the job done was efficient and consistent. Bravo LG

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Worked well for 7 months The Hom bot was purchased from Amazon at a premium price. After reviewing the various robot cleaners available the LG being a new unit seemed to offer the best machine. We have been happy with the unit until recently, when it developed a problem. We also found that it's almost impossible to buy replacement parts, so beware. Our unit works about 13 minutes and then says to "remove foreign material from the main brush", we check the unit find nothing restart it and it then stops again after 3 minutes. The unit was returned for repair and they say they found nothing wrong, got it back today and it's going back tomorrow. Additional information to follow as to the service provided by LG.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Humans love it, but the dogs feel otherwise.... Out of the box, the product is slick and well packed. The setup instructions weren't super clear as there are a lot of accessories but it was pretty easy to understand once you just looked at the product. Once assembled and charged, a simple start button was all that was needed to start cleaning in 'Zig-Zag' mode. This thing cleans like a champ out of the box and leaves the ever so satisfying lines on our carpet (see pic below). We do have two large dogs that shed like crazy and a 2 year old that drops everything on the floor. For the most part, the dogs are more than happy to clean up the food droppings from her, but I am left to deal with their hair all over the house. Although I have had to clean the dog hair out of the brush a couple times (their hair likes to accumulate in balls), it is definitely doing it's job! Pros: - The automated reminder to clean out the dust bin - can you add that feature to dryers for the link screen? - The ease it has when changing surfaces - carpet to hardwood, vice versa. It automatically knows the surface has changed and adjusts to better clean whatever surface it is on. - I was concerned about scuffs on our baseboards, but the sensors on the Hom-Bot are amazing! It has not run into the walls/furniture once! - It will go from room to room on its own, so you don't need to monitor it. - It can clean in places where your vacuum can't get to like under your bed and couch. Cons: - Large balls of dog hair get caught in the brush, but frequent use of the product would alleviate this from happening. - When the Hom-Bot cleans under your bed/nightstand/desk and there are cords, it will vacuum over the cords and either get stuck or vacuum up the cords. When in these areas, it needs to be monitored. Overall, the pros out way the cons by far and we really do love it! Our dogs are still unsure of it though (just like any vacuum, so don't take it personally Hom-Bot). There are a number of functions we have yet to explore, i.e. the mop function, so stay tuned for more feedback!

how do you  set boundaries so it won't go into the next room?

Asked by: roobot
We appreciate your interest in this robotic vacuum cleaner. It is suggested to review the options and instructions for the MY SPACE CLEANING mode on page 24 of the owner’s manual. This setting will allow operations in a manually designated area and will, in effect, eliminate the device running into another room.

When will your robots interface with a smartphone app for scheduling, mapping, etc...? Will it happen with a firmware update for existing robots, or will we have to buy a whole new robot when you release the smartphone interface?
