What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect product for our needs! We've used this washer/dryer combo for 3 years and have had nothing but the best luck with it. The machine washes very well. One cannot leave a large load of the wet laundry for the dryer to tumble so I use sensibly sized laundry loads if I plan to wash and dry. When the weather permits, our preference is outdoor line drying. Another positive spin-off is that the washer doesn't use much water and doesn't require as much laundry soap. We've saved a lot on both fronts. We have a septic system so it is important to minimize water usage; this machine fits the bill so well. We are thankful that our contractor suggested that we consider the LG combo to use in our small log cabin home. The machine doesn't require an outside exhaust, so no hole through the thick wooden logs. Uses standard 110 electric outlet. The clothes are dried by some new technology that works fine. They come out of the machine, after drying cycle, feeling slightly damp. In a few seconds, the clothes don't feel damp and are ready to fold. I operate the dryer on damp cycle because I've found that the regular setting leaves the clothes even drier than I prefer, which sets more wrinkles. Wrinkles aren't a problem for me on the damp setting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect product for small laundry room We bought this all in one LG Washer/Dryer 3 years ago for our small log cabin with a very limited space for a washer and dryer. This appliance was perfect for our space. It wasn't necessary for us to have a dryer vent opening cut though the logs. The technology used in this system fit into our lifestyle and needs better than anything we had imagined. Our contractor suggested the LG Washer/Dryer to us as we all puzzled how to make our tiny space accommodate laundry appliances. We have no regrets. There has been no glitch or problems with the machine. Operation is easy, quiet and does a great job cleaning our clothes. We use the dryer function during the winter and generally line dry our clothes when summer weather invites.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed Pros Do not have to change from washer to dryer. And that’s about it. Cons: Can only wash a medium load of laundry Takes 4-5 hours for a full wash and dry cycle Clothes come out slightly damp and have musty smell No easy way of cleaning to remove musty smell Clothes come out extremely wrinkled I would not recommend this unit. Only get a combo unit if you absolutely do not have space for both washer and dryer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Should have done this so long ago I live in a loft with a closet for the washer and dryer; I had a stackable model. Great, but no real room to fold or anything else. Very crowded. AND the lint. In spite of having the dryer vented, the closet got pretty dusty. Now I have this unit. It's great. First the three downsides: The wash/dry cycle ranges from four hours to six, yes, six, hours. And some of my canvas work pants come out wrinkled. The rest of the cotton stuff comes out okay. Lastly, some of the cycle is a little loud. The upsides: Put the laundry in, start it, and go to bed, or work, or out. Come home, the laundry is DONE. No swapping machines. And DRY; like hot dry if you get the laundry out right away. No lint filter. AND absolutely dust free. Compact, yet it cleans just about as much as my old units.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beats a Laundry Mat! I bought my LG a little over a year ago and I have loved being able to connect it under my sink in my tiny LA apartment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great features I am very satisfied with over all performance except it does what you call water knocking. It is so loud that you can hear it upstairs and my husband say's to return it. Have contacted the appliance store where I purchased it and they said it is not the machines fault. Apparently I have to purchase a water knocking regulator and have a plumber install it. Now why should I have to go to that expense when I have never had the problem with any other machine. I had a previous lg combo for sixteen years with no problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product Bought few years back. Good for my small apartment. However, if it underloaded, washing cycle will not end. Few time it stopped before rinse, with error code on display.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small but powerful We named our washer/dryer combo "Wally" which is pretty indicative that we like him a lot, except for the cat. There's plenty of cycle choices and we love how soft the laundry comes out, even without softener. The drying cycle and cool down do take a bit longer than we like, but that's minor. However, it would be nice to have an approximate time cool down will take (so we can inform the cat). We also hooked him up so he could drain into a laundry tub with a hair catcher instead of directly into a drain. This has worked extremely well as we can avoid having a lot of gunk plugging the pipes and instead clean out the hair catcher into the trash can. I am amazed how much he pulls off out laundry and spits out into the tub - although I imagine a lot of it is cat hair which is why the cat doesn't like him.

I see that this combo is discontinued but can you tell me how much it sold for?

Asked by: boopsey
The price for the LG 2.3 cu. ft. Large Capacity 24” Compact All-In-One Washer/Dryer Combo, Model # WM3477HW would have varied depending on which online site was selling it or which retail outlet was selling it. Manufacturers will sometimes have a Suggested Retail Price showing on its page while it is a current unit, but retailers very rarely sell products at the suggested price. Unfortunately, once the unit is discontinued, that price is no longer shown and the 'Where to Buy' list doesn't show which retailers carried the unit. You might be able to do an online search to find retailers who might still have some leftover inventory even though the unit has been continued and they may have a pricing but it could be a reduced pricing to clear inventory...^IFV

I just bough this unit less than a month ago. So far it seems to work okay, but where does the lint go? How can I clean the lint out? I've looked through the manual and can't seem to find a single spot that explains how to clean the lint out. Please help!

Asked by: Layne90
The unit doesn't have a traditional lint filter, however, lint and other objects may accumulate and clog the drain pump filter. If the washer fails to drain properly, unplug the washer and allow the water to cool, if necessary, before proceeding. More information can be found on pgs. 27-28 of the owner's manual.

Where is the dryer lint clean out?

Asked by: Rapidanman
Could someone from LG respond to Handyman Don's comment? I am having drying issues and I've tried all of the LG trouble shooting (e.g., reduce load, check filter, check water supply, etc.). After reviewing Amazon reviews and YouTube it seems that Handyman Don's advice is the consistent fix. If that is the case, why hasn't LG recalled the product - it seems like a design / engineering flaw if you have to unscrew the washer / dryer to clean out lint. At the very least, LG should make it easy for consumers to find the right fix.

Our unit does not dry our clothes no matter what. We live in an apartment and the landlord supplied this. Is there anything we should/can do? And do we have to clean out lint from anywhere? This is a ventless dryer I would assume that lint builds up.

Asked by: Bl89
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine combo unit. Check the drain filter trap, which is located behind the panel at the lower right of the cabinet. This is in place to keep large items out of the drain pump, but it can also get clogged with lint if it is not cleared out periodically. If this does not resolve the matter, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 to obtain additional assistance in this situation.

How do you start the dryer

Asked by: Yeti
The DRY option is not a main function of this combo model. If you desire the DRY option as a main function, it is more efficient to use a single-function dryer model. Drying options are easily selected with the DRY dial. For most even drying, make sure all articles in the load are similar in material and thickness. The DRY option can be added to all cycles, EXCEPT for the Bulky/Large, Delicate and Hand Wash/Wool cycles.
