Fast Forward Your Wash

Give big loads the same great clean while cutting your wash time by up to 30 minutes* with LG’s enhanced TurboWash® technology.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Computerized Washing Machine & Dryer Combo This Machine Does It ALL!!! It Even Sings When The Entire Cycle Is Completed. It’s So Easy To Operate It, That My 3 Year Old Granddaughter Washed Her Clothes & Her Dolls Clothing ❤️

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Happy We purchased about 1 month ago. It is wonderful! We had done a lot of research and read all the reviews. We were aware it was going to take time to complete a full cycle of laundry. We are a two person household. It does take time for each load, however with only two people and a little planning it has performed as expected. It is important to clean the door and plastic around the door between each load of laundry. The sides do get warm, it will be important for families with young children to be aware of this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It great for me. I recently acquired it and I love it, I have no problem with the washing, what if it takes a little longer to dry since it is different from what one is used to, I personally use the wet drying cycle because it does not come out with the Burnt smell and to put the softener paper just give it to pause when it is in the drying cycle, wait for the unlock and then continue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It’s everything I could have have dreamed of! I bought this a couple months ago and it’s been great! It has the best features that anyone could ask for. It’s a quick cool & freeze. The food gets cold but stays dry meaning no condensation and that’s a plus! The freezer quickly freezes and maintains a steady temperature. The ice never fails and switches easily from cubes to crushed and back again. The water dispenses coll clean tasting water. Love tos fridge!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easiest way to launder yet in one machine not 2! I waited for 5 years for them to perfect this advanced machine so I could get one! So worth the wait!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mislead This great for washing clothes but not for drying. You wash a full load of clothes, then when ready to dry, you have to take half the clothes out to dry. I had a out technician come out and told me that the dryer needs 220v to dry properly. The whole unit only works off of 110v so it takes all day to dry a half load of clothes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Washer Combo but... This washer combo is great in that once you put a load in you don’t have to worry about them until they are dry. The drying part is where trial and error comes in. You do have to be careful with the amount of cloths you put in as to how long it with take them to dry. Towels definitely take longer. I knew this info from reading the manual though so I expected to have to put in smaller loads. I have also learned to mostly use the normal wash cycle for everything except delicates and large items and the turbo wash button to cut back on wash time. Also, since it is wet when it goes into dry cycle the lint sticks to the rubber seal around the door so I have to clean that with a wet washcloth after every cycle just so it doesn’t get built up. The main reason we chose the combo washer is for saving space since we live in a tiny home. It definitely saves space and does a wonderful job washing cloths once you figure out how to use it.

Where is this combo washer/dryer manufactured?

Asked by: DrKate
Hi DrKate. Regrettably, the only way to identify where the LG Front Load Washer / Dryer Combo, Model # WM3997HWA is manufactured will be to look at the carton that it is shipped in or to look at the nameplate that is attached to the unit. LG is an international company with worldwide factories. Parts for the washer may come from different factories in different countries and the washer be assembled in a different country. The nameplate will have the date of manufacture, country of manufacture/country of assembly stamped on it...^IFV

There is a vent on the back of this unit directly beneath the cold water inlet out of which hot, humid air is ejected. Because of this condensation forms on the water line and the wall and drips onto the floor below. What is the deal with this?

Asked by: Sandwich
Hello, that is the safety air vent to prevent suffocation in case of an accident. ^AC

I have had this machine for 2 months and love it, except the light has officially gone out and it looks like it may be wet inside.

I know that there is no lint trap... but the door and rubber lining get covered in lint... and it is very difficult to clean as it sticks to the rubber. How do you suggest we keep it clean?

Asked by: Dnm1
We can only recommend you clean the unit as per the manual. The unit needs to have the Tub Clean ran regularly, clean out the drain pump filter and the rubber door seal with a sponge or a soft cloth. Please see your manual under the MAINTENANCE section for all the information. ^AC

Can i use the dryer option without do the wash to dry setting?

Asked by: BMO1
To run just a dry cycle, press Power > Dry> Start. For the most even drying, make sure all articles in the clothes load are similar in material and thickness. Do not overload the washer by placing too many articles into the drum. Items must be able to tumble freely. If you open the door and remove the load before the washer has finished the DRY cycle, remember to press the START/ PAUSE button. The capacity of the machine for washing clothes is twice as much as when drying clothes. If the machine is to be used to dry a load, then the wash load must be reduced by half for effective drying performance. If a full load is washed, remove half the clothes prior to starting the dry cycle. For more information, please feel free to contact us at 1-800-243-0000. ^AC

Where is the lint trap in the combo washer dryer?

Asked by: Chkiii
The Washer/Dryer Combo units do not have a lint trap as the lint flushes out through the drain line since it uses a condensing system and not a heating element. ^AC
