"BIGGEST BIG SCREEN ON THE PLANET"

LG AND FREMONT STREET EXPERIENCE LAUNCH VIVA VISION

LG AND FREMONT STREET EXPERIENCE LAUNCH VIVA VISION

LAS VEGAS, June 15, 2004  LG Electronics and the Fremont Street Experience have launched Viva Vision, a multimedia light and sound show, billed as the Biggest Big Screen on the Planet.
Made possible by LG sponsorship and technology integration, Viva Vision lights up the Las Vegas night from within the enormous Fremont Street canopy, a 90-foot-high, 1,500-foot-long light-emitting diode (LED) screen. Starting this week, millions of Las Vegas visitors will be treated to jaw-dropping displays of super-sized animation and high-resolution special effects.
This high-tech, digitally delivered big screen system, created by LG CNS Co., Ltd. an affiliated company of LG Electronics, is fueled by more than 12.5 million energy-efficient LED modules. While increased numbers of pixels enhance overall resolution and clarity, the Viva Vision screen displays 16.7 million color combinations, creating eye-catching and intense visual images.
Visitors will be dazzled by new special effects, including split-screen viewing, screen rotations, the integration of customized event footage, and live video feeds. Adding to the overall multi-sensory experience is a 550,000-watt concert-quality sound system delivered through 220 remote amplifiers strategically located throughout the outdoor mall.

LG Electronics, a world leader in consumer electronics, home appliances, information technology and mobile phones, has launched a 100-million-dollar marketing campaign, introducing its famous global brand to more and more American consumers under a common marketing umbrella, LG: Lifes Good. LGs sponsorship of the Fremont Street Experience is a key element of that campaign, said Michael Ahn, president and CEO of LG Electronics USA, Inc., speaking on behalf of LG at a gala inaugural event last night.

Thanks to the Viva Vision screen, the Fremont Street Experience is quite an experience. Designed and constructed by our sister company, LG CNS, Viva Vision is the worlds biggest big screen  longer than five football fields. He expressed his gratitude to the LG CNS team, which made this $17 million technology project a reality.

What better place to showcase LGs technology leadership than in the heart of Las Vegas, where reality and fantasy converge? And, as proud as we are of LG CNSs technological marvel, we are equally proud of LG Electronics major sponsorship of the Fremont Street Experience, Ahn said. Our long-term sponsorship supports LG Electronics commitment to leadership in the U.S. market, and underscores our role as a major contributor to the economic vitality of Las Vegas.
