A more functional and convenient way to store food

CHICAGO, IL (April 2, 2004) - LG Electronics, a leading global consumer products manufacturer, has developed a new design in refrigerators aimed at making consumer's lives easier. The Bottom Mount Freezer Refrigerator positions the more frequently used refrigerator component at eye level, providing consumers with easier reach and eliminating uncomfortable bending to access stored foods.

"The kitchen has become the hub of the home," said Simon Kang, President, Home Appliance Division, LG Electronics U.S.A. Inc. "Consumers are looking for more convenient ways to cook, entertain and live in their kitchens. The Bottom Mount Freezer Refrigerator provides consumers with the extra functions they desire without compromising style and quality."

The new Bottom Mount Freezer Refrigerators are available in two capacities,'.7 cubic feet and 22.4 cubic feet -- full capacity bottom mount freezer refrigerator available to consumers. Both models feature LG's exclusive multi-airflow system - an innovative cooling system in which all refrigerator shelves are outfitted with its own venting ducts for optimal cavity cooling and food freshness.

In addition, the 22.4 tilting drawer model also boasts LG's unique external water dispensing system with a built-in water filter. Usually reserved for side-by-side units, the LG Bottom Mount Freezer Refrigerator features a water dispensing system on the exterior of the refrigerator door. Unlike other water dispensers, this one does not take
up any of the space inside the door. The external water filter also allows consumers to keep the refrigerator door closed and conserve energy, while enjoying chilled, filtered water at anytime.

Also exclusive to LG's Bottom Mount Freezer Refrigerator is the Design-A-Door Shelving System, wherein each refrigerator shelf has the ability to move horizontally as well as vertically. This unique organizational tool enables consumers to maximize refrigerator space to accommodate larger dishes and quantities of food in the refrigerator.

The new Bottom Mount Freezer Refrigerators are available in two designs -- the conventional left or right reversible door and the more innovative tilting freezer drawer for easier freezer access (LRDC20731/22731). Each design is available in white, bisque, black, stainless steel, titanium and smooth white - a new high gloss, premium finish. Both units are available at major retail outlets nationwide at the manufacturer's suggested retail price of $699-$999 for the'.7 cubic ft. reversible door, $799-$1,099 for the 22.4 cubic ft. reversible door, $1,249-$1,449 for the'.7 cubic ft. tilting freezer drawer, and $1,349-$1,549 for the 22.4 cubic ft. tilting freezer drawer model. The 22.4 cubic ft. tilting freezer drawer model with external water dispensing system (LRDC22743) is priced at $1,649-$1,849.
